Met Fred and Alf in Greenhead in the outer reaches of Northumberland just before the border with Cumbria. They both had Motoguzzi's one a V35 a rare enough, and noteworthy sight. The most remarkable thing though was the conversation we had. Fred with the "custom" bike was a bit of a whizz with all things motorcycle in Moto Guzzi circles, and had recently rebuilt Alf's gearbox, and were having a run out to put it through its paces.

Fred was in his 80's himself still enjoying his motorcycling, and Alf....94 next birthday. Quite amazing and full of chat and interesting stories.

Love the older Moto Guzzi 😎 They always had a reputation for dodgy electrics though... Maybe they were French bikes cunning disguised as Italians 🤣

Absolutely lovely :) without checking, that to me looks like a pre-war Austin 7, possibly a Big 7... Also always known to me as an Austin Ruby although never sure if that was an official model/name.

We had a scrap one in our garden when I was a boy. It was one of my toys...

A mate's mother had one, either a 7 or a 10. She often used to take us out in the countryside and up on the moors for picnics and general mucking about, usually ending up falling in streams or covered in mud, or both.
Vividly remember finding insect eating Sundew (thought it was Honeydew :( ) plants, poor mans Venus Fly Trap.

That's what the DVLA think Jim...an Austin Big Seven 1938. Classiccarcatalogue tells me that the Big Seven was discontinued by early 1939 and was effectively replaced by the Austin 8 in February 1939.

Now that is marginally co-incidental. Only today I posted a film of two motoring journalists taking the "new Austin 8" for an endurance test around the English Lake District on March 24th 1939, dug out from the FCF archives.

Its here, is a gem and well worth a watch.

Car shows can result in too many pictures. From 30 at this afternoons outing excluding the exotica of Ferraris and Lamborghini's and the obligatory Mustangs, I have let the random hand select 9 falcon shutter clicks. Fits nicely into a 3x3 table. Click any one image to enlarge.

Of the two stars of the show for me, the Clan Crusader made it to the random selection. The biggest personal star wasn't selected by the random hand, but is very appropriate fodder for the "first cars thread" ( viewtopic.php?p=811392#p811392 ) where it has now been dumped. Had a nice chat with the owner.

Stamfordham Steve...6 or so miles from Belsay or Ponteland. Tapped away at this site https://www.carevents.com/uk/all-car-events/ as I thought there might be something on today and up it popped, very well attended lots of cars there token voluntary £5 to park the car in a field. The Falcon camera probably captured more of the ordinary than the exotic :-D as seen with my choice of the Cowley and the Clan Crusader as my stars of the show.

Yes there is although strictly speaking it's an MG RV8, not an MGB.

A veritable bevy of British classics at last night's dinner venue which you can check out here

Weirdly I couldn't find their owners but I'm sure it was some sort of car club gathering!!

Today's Classic Bike is A Suzuki GT 750 K (1972), an updated version of the Suzuki GT 750 J model (1971) with the addition of twin disc brakes at the front wheel which was a first for the time, and it came in some new interesting gaudy colours. First time I have seen one of these early models, which Jim correctly identified on another thread today.. The colour struck me as being unusual, virtually all the other GT750's I have seen have been blue.

This video is a very good 10 minutes about the bike and its various models over the years, Sound and vision but no aroma... I think its worth a watch. Having seen it in the flesh always nice to find out a little more about it.
