We used to sit on the rocks on the shore of Käringön and watch the sun dip into the sea, then half an hour later rise again.
Spectacular.

There was an old cartoon with cavemen watching the sunset, one saying "There must be thousands of those down there one goes down every night."

You get up that early Jim I'm surprised it's had chance to go down! :rofl2:
 My youngest, bless her, often tells me she receives my daily mirroring WhatsApp* just before she goes to bed of a weekend especially

* My girls insist I WhatsApp them every morning to reassure them I'm OK and managed to make it through another night unscathed. I tend to do it first thing when I wake up... We've had this arrangement for a good few years now and if they don't receive it in a timely manner I get a phone call...

Very peaceful looking spot Chris. Id say it gets cold in the winter According to Irish legends it was the training ground of the ancient Fianna. The elite warriors of ancient Gaelic kings. They were trained by shield maidens there apparently.

Thats news to me.. it doesn't get that cold compared to mainland Scotland... the Gulfstream keeps the temperatures between 4 and 5 generally in the winter to 12 to 14 in the summer.. I have seen it minus 5 on a cold clear night and have seen it 21 in the summer... but because of the clear skies that 21 feels more like 30 and the roads start to melt. It doesn't happen very often and more often than not is followed but at least 2 or 3 days of fog as the land has got too warm for the surrounding sea.
This is the view from the opposite direction looking south.

A few months ago we paid a company to do a 'skip run' for us. Very efficient team, I'm not gunna advertise them here don't worry. Whilst removing some old deck boards from our side garden they revealed a mice nest with newborns. So we asked them to leave it. Now we have a new visitor in our back garden. 'He' pops in several times a day.

It's reckoned that if you see a mouse there will be an extended family of over 42.

I hope so, doesn't seem like your normal ' in house' variety. Maybe a field mouse or door mouse?
