Halfords shopping- Pump £5 Inner Tube £4 |
One of those track pump things acquired gratis but doesn't work since it went "pop". Can't be much wrong with it and may be fixable. That O ring looks too big for a start ![]() |
A more precise match for the inner tube ![]() from the same gratis source as the pump £0 ![]() |
Not at first attempt that other O ring looked too big to make any sort of seal, but a couple of smaller ones while still providing a bit of side bulge to the plunger head didn't make any difference. Not the worlds leading expert on the track pump. It's labelled Streetwise Heavy Duty Hand Pump with Gauge this one here
How did you clean it out Jim? I think dismantling of the bottom end may well be more distruction than careful dismantling. Boiling fairy liquid enriched water down the "tube" maybe. It has only one moving part and a series of valves and tubes. Surely little to go wrong which writes it off!. I mean they arent very expensive so they are pretty much in the category of throw away/no parts available/ might as well buy a new one so any hack to get it working obviously a bonus.CitroJim wrote: 05 Aug 2024, 17:28 You'll likely find it has a one-way valve somewhere in the body of the pump Neil. If this is not happy it won't make any pressure...
Mine gave trouble a few weeks back and I found its head to be bunged up with tubeless sealant. It blocked it almost completely...
