That is St Lawrence's Church Nettleden Mick. Obviously not being familiar with it, the world wide web assisted but I pressed the keys to find it

Have a go.
This one is like when you can take your reference books into an exam.
Heres the reference book....Classic car catalogue. I have even opened it up at a useful page...The car is an Austin.
Simple task of finding the right page.

...or in an unprecedented bit of helpfulness and general knowledge I can tell you that the vehicle used for this momentous event was the same model as today's whatsthisthen

Looks like an Austin A125 Sheerline to me.

Re: Whatsthisthen?
It is indeed. Only took a photo of the headlight at the car show so I didn't have any reference as to what exactly it was, but I did remember the badge (like the first one on this link http://www.simoncars.co.uk/austin/sheerline.html ) which displayed Austin A125. Never came across that number but yes on looking up back at the ranch I found it was the Sheerline

It’s one of them Mick, gorgeous colour and shape , part of the display at Gaydon.
The tacho clue on the dashboards thread, was that it went up to 70, in ‘000’s rpm.

Re: Whatsthisthen?
Looks like the British Motor museum at Gaydon is a nice place to stop off at. I have only been there on a virtual visit via a you tube vid but I did notice those open-top prototypes you posted on the Open top motoring thread.
Did you take a pic of this other curiosity I recently picked out here...

It was my first visit - we'd planned it as a first 'distance' trip for Helga the Merc - and the museum gets the Bobins Seal of Approval I'll post a very brief bit about it over on the Nice Places to Stop Off At thread.
Didn't see that Rover there - I might have been inattentive, or it might have been elsewhere
