Hi,
I have two 308 t7 and both by VIN number have "ELECTROCHROMATIC DAY-NIGHT INTERIOR MIRROR" but they are quite different!
On VF3**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff] there is one sensor in front and one on the back, no buttons:

I wanted to switch these two mirrors but it seems that they will not work... will it?
Are both mirrors ELECTROCHROMATIC? Like it it state in VIN document?

Both are stated as electrochromatic, but one is listed as with switch and one without.... no idea what the switch does.

We had a mirror with a switch on, may have been our 2004 C5, and it darkened it to help stop being dazzled by car headlights behind. Others without a switch (or lever) have darkened automatically. On the lower photos, the switch might be the button on the bottom of the mirror.

I had a switch on our Mk1 C5 mirror. IIRC it switched out the automatic darkening of the mirror.

The older ones had a switch to turn the electrochrome function on or off, but later ones have a sensor to detect the light entering the vehicle from the rear and darkens automatically. When reverse gear is selected, it then lightens automatically for the manoeuvre.
