Hello,
I have a Peugeot 508 RXH from 2015. It's a 2.0 HDI, 133kW. After I changed the cylinder head gasket and timing belt set, I have a problem with starting the engine. This only happens with the first start of the day. It cranks for a long time, and eventually starts, but sometimes I have to repeat the starting process 2-3 times. Then, a huge cloud of black smoke comes out of the exhaust. The engine doesn't show any error codes, nor is anything visible on diagnostics. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this?

Re: 508 RXH starting problem
I can only suggest timing is out or the crank sensor.

Re: 508 RXH starting problem
Hello everyone, I'm reaching out again with an update. I've replaced both the camshaft sensor and the crankshaft sensor. The same issue persists. What do you think I should try next?

Re: 508 RXH starting problem
What are you using to run diagnostics? Maybe it isn't clever enough to really get inside for the codes?
