Hi all, I am in need of someone who can remotely repair or remove and re install Diagbox and AUTOCOM on a Lenovo miix320. I am out of my depth here after messing with the set up to alter the user account and connect to wifi to get updates. I think it is a virtual setup and it worked fine when I got it although I only used the Diagbox with it connected to my van but I ran a forced regeneration of the dpf so it was all good. Now the Diagbox doesn’t read anything from my van but the light on the VCI is green. The AUTOCOM shortcuts don’t work and I have deleted them from the desktop thinking I could re install them but no it will not remove and reinstall.
So can anyone offer a service to get me back to a working Diagbox?

Contact your seller, as the installation you have will largely depend on what you were supplied with in the first place. No 2 installs are alike I'm afraid...

Re: Remote assistance needed
Hi Marc, I have contacted the seller and he is not very cooperative. I had a short reply to check antivirus was not blocking the software and to reinstall if it didn’t work!
I am concerned that I could brick it if I made a mistake myself. I would need an idiots guide to installing both Diagbox and Autocom as most of the instructions I have found on the web seem to indicate the installer knows a lot about computers and the various systems which I do not!

Not something we can do on the Forum, and unlikely anyone is going to want to undertake an installation to be honest, but you have put the question out there....
Most here won't use Autocom, but a Lexia VCI, just so you know. Further you should never allow Diagbox connected access to the Internet as it can deactivate your installation. If you have it as a VM though, you should be able to reset the VM and it should go back to the original state it was in, as long as you haven't reconfigured anything on the VM that is causing the issues. But again this is something your seller should be able to guide you on if you have support with them.
Sorry that may not be helpful, but we can't provide ICT support given the too numerous systems and circumstances of everyone's installations.

Thanks Marc, I understand it was a big ask. The seller did respond to say it does not have VMware so not a virtual setup. I think it is the fact that I did connect to the internet and it did a windows update. My next issue is there is no uninstall option in windows update history to remove them.
I appreciate your time and comments.

Unfortunately not as it's a 'patched' unofficial version to make it work and it is a very messy installation, creating files all over the place, which is why when it goes wrong a requires a re-installation it needs a thorough root and branch forensic removal of the files, as if Diagbox has deactivated, reinstalling it will not work.
If you have a dedicated diagnostics laptop (recommended not to use it for anything else) , I would of suggested taking a registry backup before installing Diagbox or any other related software first of all. Then you could of at least restored the registry back to this state if it all went toes up. Then it would be a matter of cleaning up all the related directories and files in the root folder and trying a new installation again from your installation media.
They are correct about any anti-virus software; disabling this is essential to prevent blocking of certain files that may be deemed as virus.
