Your story is similar to David's as told here. Shocking customer service Skull.
DHallworth wrote: 04 Apr 2022, 13:59 Nope :(

There's been nothing at all! They took a £250 reservation fee back in September 2021 and haven't said another word since! They've still not even confirmed UK pricing which leads me to think it's going to be a lot more expensive then initially suspected.

I was really enthusiastic about this back in 2021 and now life is moving on and my wife is looking to change her car, it's looking less and less likely that I'll be going for it. I'm holding tight until I know for sure though.

David.
NewcastleFalcon wrote: 04 Apr 2022, 14:31 Thanks David. Object lesson in poor customer service it would appear. It's as if they want to throttle UK demand for the AMI.
DHallworth wrote: 24 May 2022, 15:03 Nope, I've pulled out and requested my deposit be returned.

I always said my max was £6,500 give or take a couple of hundred quid. The entry spec one is a grand more than my give or take budget.

As much as I fancy it for the novelty factor, a used Renault Zoe for the same money is a much more sensible option.

David.

Saw one at Croxdale Citroen a couple of weeks ago Skull. Not too far away from your patch. Looks like they offer a test drive :-D

It seems the Citroen Ami might require sensible driving, by people who 'listen' the the car, otherwise this might happen;

Ha ha, "it's not fast enough"

And yet still too fast for some...

I've now seen one in the flesh, not on the road but in Citroen dealer, Eccleston.

I'm not sure it's completely a marmite car, there's a few things I like about it, few things I don't. Are they only doing in that bloody awful but bang on trend primer grey?

Spotted in Athens (Greece) last month:

So at least one has been sold and is on the roads (albeit not in the UK). It had disappeared when I came past later - sadly did not get to see owner clambering in and driving (crawling?) off.

I thought I had seen one of these before as recently featured on this thread here.
By some miracle I have managed to both take a photo of the falcon ami on an I-pad, and upload it to the forum.

I saw one locally but I'm having to scratch my head to think where. In a Gloucester car park last week maybe. :?

Just got back from a short trip to Normandy. Saw a few Amis in Caen, seemed OK in the city environment. One day we had a trip to the coast, Bayeux, Arromanches and beyond. Traffic light, perfect rural road strees free day, 80 limit and 50 in the villages. Then we came up against a long tailback, despite the light traffic. Not stop start like roadworks, just constant slow progress for ages and ages (and ages and ages more). Farm vehicle? No, surely it would have turned off by now. Then we arrived at a straight so we could see. In the distance, in front of the 30 or so cars in the queue, was an Ami. A mobile chicane. Grrrrr. Even the original Ami with the weakest engine they fitted - the 32 bhp version of the flat twin - weighed down with 5 passengers, their luggage and a couple of goats would have been quicker.

For serious use as a car I reckon anything needs to be able to reach the national speed limit in level flight. The Ami is too far from that.

(I do like the 2CV/early Ami style hinged side windows though)

Saw one in real life in Waitrose Cambridge car park this morning, LHD, UK plates. The road alongside is a 40 limit so presumably it arrived with its own tailback :)
