I am having an issue with the handbrake not engaging on my 2015 Grand Picasso - 1.6 HDI, I have had a look through the forum which is excellent, and followed some of the information given, It seems that the driver side (right side) rear harness from the EPB is prone to breaks to have checked the entire length of both sides for breaks and nothing the wires are in good condition. Checked for fault codes and the only code I am getting is C1560(00) which I believe is for the left-hand actuator got 5.5v at both of the thick wires which I believe is correct but just over 1v for the red wire which thought should be 10v.
Any help would be greatly appreciated , Thank you in advance.

Yes I ask the stupid questions, because normally it is that simple.

There is a known technical issue for this fault code that involves the updating of the ESP Software. If you provide your VIN I will check to see if this applies to your vehicle. Please post your VIN in full without spaces - it will be automatically masked from public view after submitting your post & will only be visible to staff.

Ok, confirmed, this applies to your vehicle.
Tell the dealer you believe this fault code is part of a Technical Service Bulletin entitled "DISPLAYING OF THE MESSAGE "PARKING BRAKE FAULT" - LIGHTING OF THE "SERVICE" AND "AUTO P OFF" WARNING LAMPS - IN THE PRESENCE OF ONE OR MORE OF THE FOLLOWING FAULT CODE(S) C1560, C1561".
Tell them it is in the diagnosis section under the parking brake on their system.

Re: Hand brake not engaging
Just an update on the progress of my handbrake issue - Now been with Citroen for 3 days, On Day one they checked and updated the ECU issue this did not resolve it, called to advise further investigation is needed (Checking wiring ), now on day 3 and just received another call to say the technician can not find the problem and needs more time wish there was a conversion kit just to go back to a manual handbreak.

Hi,
You have the EXACT same issue as I do and I'm ripping my hair out.
Please tell me you got this fixed, and what was the outcome/culprit?

Re: Hand brake not engaging
Hi,
I have the same issue with my Citroen C4. Picasso, 2016 model.
It started with the handbrake error lights turning on with message:
"PARKING BRAKE FAULT" - LIGHTING OF THE "SERVICE" AND "AUTO P OFF" WARNING LAMPS
Error codes then: C156C 92 and C1561 00 (These were fixed by fixing broken wires around the gasoline tank area
Then Park break system was reset and error codes removed, and then the new code arrived; C1560 00
So then my question is if that Bulletin software error is relevant for my car to?
The VIN is: VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff] for my car
