ppeu wrote: 15 Jun 2023, 14:21 So my car did not have a NAC united only a SMEG. I got NAC unit and installed everything else works, including downloading the data to the app. I used the donor VIN to get the 1year connected nav service (1 month free trial). But unable to get this on my Nac unit.

If there’s no way I’ll just cancel the subscription. But seems like some people made it work.
If the activation of the connected services has never been done on the donor car, it is more complicated to achieve in the case of a secured BSI.

Better ask on VLud’s page about Arduino issues…

I found much better solution.
Gentlemen called Dave from https://www.magpieautos.com/ activated my Smeg and NAC. No hassle with Airduno and all done via DB.
He is simple the best.

Yeah, he's a UK based specialist for SMEG / NAC upgrades.
So you have Connected services now?
And why activating both SMEG und NAC?

I've had Smeg in garage for about 2 years. And after realising there is no more mirror link support I've found cheap NAC and screen. Now I've got only issue with reversing camera fish eye effect without guide lines. But I'm sure I'll sort it out.

I don't have connected services. I can buy it but I don't need it at all. Only what I need is Android Auto ;)

Ah, OK. All clear now! :)
You can (offline) calibrate reversing camera with Diagbox. There’s option for guide lines as well.
Just follow the prompts on the screen…

I've tried DB and it won't let me do anything offline. With camera. Maybe I've gone with wrong page. I've tried via NAC repair settings.

Can you tell me more about offline calibration please?

I don't have this version of DB. Mine won't let me calibrate. I've had to change vehicle type to 0x00 via Arduino to finally see reversing camera in correct angle.

Switch head unit 2015 ds5

Unread post by JamieLeeWV »

Hi guys

After a bit of advice.

I'm looking to get a new head unit for my ds5 2015, preferably a touch screen with android auto.

My car currently has a reversing camera, will this be affected by any new system? As I'd want that to still work.

And do you guys know of any units that work with the ds5? I'm not sure where or what to look for?

Thanks

I currently have the RT6 unit installed which doesn't have touchscreen but I'd like to upgrade to a touchscreen one.

Completing parts iis worst part of this project. But soon when you have got all stuff it's easy to retrofit NAC. I've got it fitted and all works fine. Reversing cam was a bit tricky to telecode but now works great.

Goodmorning,
Was searching the internet and found this thread, so decided to register… Hi all!
I have a 2017 308 SW, originally equiped with a SMEG unit and have upgraded it for a NAC a couple of months ago.
Bought it via Ebay in Italy. Must say that it works flawlessly, totally worth the price.

Since then I am thinking about the TomTom Connected services: from the donor car (a Spanish C3) the service will expire next year. As already known, I cannot purchase an update in the Peugeot app for my own VIN, as it is not supposed to have NAC.
Via the Citroen app, with original VIN, I could renew the subscription, but…
To make the unit work in my car, the VIN had to be added to the NAC. I don’t exactly know how the servers and updates work, but how will TomTom know that the subscription ends at date X?
And: if I renew via the original VIN number, how does TomTom know it is now working in my car?

I am willing to pay for the service, but to my opinion 100 eu is a bit too much for a gamble (I am Dutch :))

Hope somebody can enlighten me, thanks in advance!
Daniel
