Hi guys. Just picked up a 2015 ds5, downloaded the Citroen app went to register my car input my Vin number which is 100% right as the one on my windscreen matches the one on my v5, and all I get is an error message saying 'vin unknown'
Does it not work with this car? I looked on the description on the app page and it says compatible with all Citroen cars that have Bluetooth, which mine does?
Has anyone else had this problem? Any ideas how to fix?
Thank you
Citroen app vin unknown?

Not something like mixing the letter O up with the number 0 is it?

Try the DS App instead as you have a later DS5 and then pop the VIN up here so I can check it too (please post your VIN in full without spaces - it will be automatically masked from public view after submitting your post & will only be visible to staff).

It worked. How silly of me. The my DS app worked thank youGiveMeABreak wrote: ↑17 Jun 2023, 19:33 Try the DS App instead as you have a later DS5 and then pop the VIN up here so I can check it too (please post your VIN in full without spaces - it will be automatically masked from public view after submitting your post & will only be visible to staff).
One final question though, in the pictures on the app storr there is a column which monitors your trip journeys mpg etc, I've just downloaded it but I don't have this option on my app, is this because I haven't done any trips yet? Does it just add them automatically?
Or do I need to enable something? I've attached pic of the app store and what my app is showing.
I seem to be missing the second column which shows all the figures

Very likely that it may not provide historic trip details before you installed the App.

So once I start doing trips they will be recorded now I've downloaded the app? How does the app know what trips I've done? Do I have to connect to Bluetooth or something? Or is it linked to my VIn what trips I've done?GiveMeABreak wrote: ↑18 Jun 2023, 19:41 Very likely that it may not provide historic trip details before you installed the App.

You need to connect your phone to your vehicle via Bluetooth and agree to the privacy T&Cs.

Ah I see. So if I leave my Bluetooth on on my phone it should connect to my automatically once I get in the car?GiveMeABreak wrote: ↑18 Jun 2023, 19:53 You need to connect your phone to your vehicle via Bluetooth and agree to the privacy T&Cs.

Where are the t's and C's? When you first download the app? I agreed to something but think it was there?

Yes that's correct, once you initiate the Bluetooth connection, make sure you allow it access as needed. As long as Bluetooth is enabled on your phone it will automatically connect each time you get in the car. T&Cs = Terms & Conditions. It's because you have to agree to your data being submitted to DS / parent group to use certain features as it tracks you basically.

Thank you. You've been great. Really appreciate it. Apologies for the basic questions I'm new to the Citroen world and don't know a lot about cars
Also, this is going off topic but saves me creating a new one, on my astra I had I could check on my information screen and it would show the exact tyre pressure for each of my tyres, I can't find this information anywhere on my ds5 information screen when cycling through the menu, does this mean my ds5 isn't fitted with this type of information? Shame if not, as it's a feature I really liked on my astra

I'll need your VIN to determine the type of TPMS (if fitted) you have - (please post your VIN in full without spaces - it will be automatically masked from public view after submitting your post & will only be visible to staff).

Re: Citroen app vin unknown?
You do have a TPMS system, but there were several types - one with tyres pressure sensors fitted on each wheel and a receiver ECU, and another 'indirect' system, where the wheels don't have sensors, but instead the ESP system monitors the tyre characteristics and reports possible under-inflation back to the driver. Looking at your spec. you don't have the under inflation ECU fitted, so I suspect you may have the indirect system.

I see. So that means I can't check the individual tyre pressure via the screen system, but I would be alerted on my screen if my tyre pressure was too low?GiveMeABreak wrote: ↑19 Jun 2023, 10:02 You do have a TPMS system, but there were several types - one with tyres pressure sensors fitted on each wheel and a receiver ECU, and another 'indirect' system, where the wheels don't have sensors, but instead the ESP system monitors the tyre characteristics and reports possible under-inflation back to the driver.
