New tyre fitted. Spare tube fitted after the original tube burst when I pumped it back up (valve blew out). Bike ridden for 5 miles till the spare tube also burst. 2 miles walked. New tubes ordered!!

Appears that the spare tube I have been carrying about for a couple of 000 miles was pretty much ornamental :rofl2:

Good to see the air in your new tyre stayed where it was supposed to on your last ride Richard :D

If you have any worries you could always have one of these follow you around ;)

Spotted this at the Mathewsons sale today. Falcon Banana...had to post it here :-D

As I learned from this article
Banana-Falcon was a British team that made its presence felt in Europe in the Nineties with an array of hard riders — perhaps none more so than Chris Walker, the tough Yorkshireman who bossed the 1991 Milk Race.

That has reminded me that my racing bike of the 70s was a Falcon Eddie Mercx special 10 speed with P531 tubing!' That is my entire memory of my cycling days!! :-D

That was a good price for the Falcon Banana...

Passed some milestones today..

Celebrated with a roadside repair - ran over a stone or something and got a pinch flat. At least my spare tube is OK after the recent tyre shenanigans.

Think I will struggle to get to all time 16k km / 10k miles this year, but it's a good target 😁

YOu could do that any day of the week here Jim the sheep owners have 'commoner's rights' so the sheep ('Ship' in the Forest) wander freely without much supervision.

I've had much experience with sheep, cows, pigs and ponies with commoner rights in the New Forest Eric! I always give them a wide berth and pass with great care and common sense... Something lacking in the cyclist in the video above..

He will in the future ;)

From the pages of Electrek.

I went to the Netherlands to see a biking paradise, but found something more surprising

Story in words
https://electrek.co/2023/06/06/amsterda ... lle-bikes/

and in sound and vision could be the most enlightening video watch of the day :-D Micah has a nice relaxed presentation style.

Excellent video I thought, hope a few others had a watch of it.

Today's stimulation for the bike enthusiast. A rusty wreck that's seen better days, but with Simplex gears proudly shown. Doesn't mean much to me, Shimano rival :?:
