Eolys?

Re: Eolys?
Read this thread with interest as I've got the 'particle additive low' warning on myself. Brought Eolys fluid from Peugeot main dealer gave them my car details (Pug 508 1.6hdi 2013 reg, build date Jan 2012) sold me Eolys 176 telling me it was for my car. Which confirmed what I thought as I have had a look at the tank and it's got green fit connectors. That was before I read this though and now I'm thinking that I should be filling up with Powerflex and to ignore the colour of the connectors and go with build date. What a wonderful system they have come up with, I'll check back with Peugeot parts department and see what they say and update you later.

Re: Eolys?
@cribs76: There are 2 different dates. Eolys type is based on the manufacturing (build date) and therefore we'll need your VIN (please post your VIN in full without spaces - it will be automatically masked from public view after submitting your post & will only be visible to staff) to confirm the correct type of fluid.
The click fit connectors should not be relied on, correct.

Re: Eolys?
@Dwoo: You require Eolys POWERFLEX for this specific vehicle's build based on your VIN.

Re: Eolys?
Ok, so the Peugeot 508 (W2) from 2011 - 2017 requires specifically Eolys Extend from build date 12076 (1st Dec. 2009). Your build date is 12867 (31st Jan 2012).
Although some vehicles from build 12166 (1st March 2010) generally take Eolys Powerflex (and anyone reading this - please note it still depends on your exact model), there are specific exceptions for some vehicles and this includes the 508 (W2), which must remain with Eolys Extend.
In either case they have provided the incorrect Additive, as Eolys 176 was only for certain vehicles up to build date 12165 (28th February 2010).
So your vehicle was obviously too new for this older additive. The garage needs to look and pay more attention to their technical bulletins that specifically state this.

Thanks very much, would that be a pouch or tank refill kit?GiveMeABreak wrote: 30 Mar 2023, 19:01 @Dwoo: You require Eolys POWERFLEX for this specific vehicle's build based on your VIN.

Re: Eolys?
Quick update, went back to main dealers had a consultation with pretty much everyone in the parts department and they are adamant that Eolys 176 is the one for my motor. They have checked it with the vin, dam and reg and they say that's what they put in when they do the refills in similar models with no issues. If it turns out to be wrong well guess who will be replacing my emissions system??? Great forum and thanks for the replys.

Re: Eolys?
@marc yeah I see what you mean with the tech data you would think they would have easy access to the same information you showed me. I have seen though on a French website that 176, infineum and Extend (Extend replaced infineum 7995 and is used in cars with dam after 12076) can be mixed. Well that was my reading of it anyway, but a Powerflex system must be filled with the same fluid. So maybe they ain't worried when they come across a additive system with with any of those three been used. The 176 they sold me had a use by date of 2028 but I don't know the shelf life of the fluid so I've no idea how long it has been in stock so maybe they are shifting the 176 before the Extend.

Re: Eolys?
I have DPF low additive message. Which fluid is proper for Citroen C4 (B7), 1.6 e-HDI, 114Hp, auto, hatchback 2nd gen, 2013? Is Eolys Powerflex suitable? Does it have a DPF/FAP additive tank or DPF/FAP pouce?

Re: Eolys?
You require Powerflex Additive specifically and you have an additive reservoir, so not a pouch system.
