Re: How to Replace the Internal MicroSD Card - RT6
Hi
That firmware looks like it is a factory supplied firmware and wasn't released for your vehicle (508 CAN2010). So you will have to look at the later firmware 2.86. Now under normal circumstances, with a working system the upgrade from 2.75 to 2.86 should be smooth without the need for a dealer to configure the RT6 unit afterwards. However, as your existing SD card is shot and if replacing the MicroSD card with a new one, it may be a different scenario and require configuration afterwards.
Read through page one of my post on this thread. If you can access the user files from the card using Mirascripts that would be very helpful in restoring configuration later after the upgrade. If not, then at this stage you have nothing to lose.

Re: How to Replace the Internal MicroSD Card - RT6
Hi.
I have 308 with RT6 system not working. CD is repeating looking for cd, Peugeot screen logo comes on then nothing.
I tried using memory stick with Mirascripts loaded and plugging into the cars USB drive but it does not seem to look forthe USB drive, nothing happens on the screen.
Would it be okay to put in a new microsd card and run the firmware 2.86 via a CD to see if at least the system will work, even though config would not be correct with vehiles parameters?
Thanks

Re: How to Replace the Internal MicroSD Card - RT6
Hi
Well at this stage it seems you have nothing to lose. As I don't know your current firmware version (do you?) I can't advise on the probability of losing configuration settings . Some firmware versions can be upgraded without incident to the latest firmware, whist other versions often require a dealer to intervene to reconfigure the RT6 as it goes into secure lockdown mode.
But if you aren't getting anywhere now it looks like your system files are already corrupt. Get a compatible 16 Gb replacement MicroSD card and try installing the firmware onto it (it will create the partitions for you) before installing the operating system, but this can take 45+ minutes to do.

Re: How to Replace the Internal MicroSD Card - RT6
Have you been updating the maps recently? If you have you may have corrupted map data the same as I had on my RT6/eMyWay system in my C5 X7. This is mentioned earlier in this thread. I overcame the problem by installing the maps again.

Thanks for your reply.
I do not know what the firmware version was before the problem, probably safe to assume it would not have had many updates if any since the car was new, car is 2013 year, not sure Peugoet policy of doing upgrades routinely.
Elsewhere in the forum it is mentioned that ver 2.86 is not best to use as it might cause bigger problems as it was a maor release. Can you therefore send me a link to a firmware version it would be good to try?
Regards
Alan

Re: How to Replace the Internal MicroSD Card - RT6
Hi Alan
Peugeot don't perform firmware updates unless there is a problem notified by the customer. It's more of something that the end user has to do if so inclined.
Without knowing the previous version, I can't provide any pointers as it depends exactly on the vehicle and the pre-installed version as to the probability of success without configuration loss. But as said, there is little point at this stage in worrying now if you can't access the system or use it. I don't recommend trying a firmware install with any other version apart from 2.86 as it we know this is the latest and likely last firmware that will be released and is a major firmware version.
I will send you a link via Private Message.

Re: How to Replace the Internal MicroSD Card - RT6
Hello Marc,
Peugeot 508, 2013
I'm currently receiving the ''Check in progress'' followed by the ''Insert navigation CD'' error, every time I start my car.
Can this problem be resolved by following the instructions you left at the top? I don't need the latest firmware, so I assume copying the Files from the old to the new SD card will suffice.
On a sidenote, Is there a way to check if I need a 8 GB or 16 GB SD card, without opening up the RT6 unit?
Thanks in advance !

Re: How to Replace the Internal MicroSD Card - RT6
In most cases your Internal MicoSD card will be faulty and starting to cause data corruption.
The member above 'gurneya' had the same issue and has just completed the change and has his system working again.
Read the guide fully first and pay specific attention to the Mirascripts part A first of all and B later on afterwards. This will ensure you recover the user configuration files before the upgrade. If you don't there is a high possibility the system will lose all configuration and require a dealer visit. I can't emphasise this strongly enough.
In the case of 'gurneya' there was too much damage and Mirascripts could not retrieve the files, so he managed to mound the SD onto his PC and copy the files from the relevant partition manually, and restored them later after the upgrade.
You will need the latest firmware to do this. If you want a link to the ISO let me know.
As for car size, mu recommendation is to get a 16Gb compatible card - don't mess about with the standard 8Gb one as these are too small for the later, larger maps in any case! Just make sure you get a compatible card with the same specifications - don't get anything too fast or fancy or you may end up with other issues (remember these units have been out for 10 years now, but were designed years before then....

Re: How to Replace the Internal MicroSD Card - RT6
Hello Marc,
Thanks for the reply!
I understand, I intend to buy a 'clean' USB and SD card for this, just in case.
I guess I'll open the RT6 unit to check what kind of SD it's using atm. without removing the card itself.
Its nice to know there is a plan B, with mounting the SD directly onto my PC.
A link to the correct ISO would be most welcome, to make sure I've got the right one.
Cheers,
Tom

Re: How to Replace the Internal MicroSD Card - RT6
I am trying to sort out my sd card issue and wanted to check 2 things. The guide says plug the usb into the head unit, my car only has a usb port in the central console in the car. Will this work ?
I am also having trouble finding the upgrade software (tried Peugeot dealers and they’re useless) where can I get this from?

Yes, that's what is meant - whatever USB you use and wherever it is located, it should update the Head unit. None of the Head units have a USB connection actually on them. They are in the centre storage compartment or in the front console area or similar.
Check your Private Messages in a few minutes and I'll provide a link for the firmware for you.

@Mf01
What year is your 308? The Mark 2 has SMEG+ and, later on, NAC. This has the USB port in the centre console. I'm not sure what the Mark 1 has but I think it might be RD45. The point is that if you have any of the ones I've listed then it's not RT6 and you shouldn't try to use RT6 firmware on it.
If the Mk1 did have an RT6 system then I will have learned something and am happy to be put right.
