I've never really understood why you can't have a manual gearbox with an electric car - in my mind it would help some of the range deficit of an automatic gearbox.

My guess is the torque/clutch load on gearchanges.

I can't remember which but guessing Porsche as one but there are a couple of electrics that have a manual gearbox, only two gears though.

Possibly Rimac II as the other.

No! [-X
I believe it is normal running and long distance running. As you mentioned to increase the range.

myglaren Ah I see, that may be the case where you pre-select the drive ratio for the journey you intend to do.

Let's not get too excited about a "brochure" shot of something from the USA which will set you back over $300,000, but I have seen worse looking cars :-D

“CELESTIQ is the purest expression of Cadillac, acknowledging our incredible history and driving us to a bolder and brighter future,” said Global Vice President of Cadillac Rory Harvey. “It is a completely bespoke work of automotive art, built around the most advanced and innovative technology that we have ever engineered into an automobile. With an extremely low volume of hand-built vehicles to be offered globally each year and an exclusive declaration process, CELESTIQ will truly be a custom-commissioned one-of-one.”

Here's a test

How many can stand to watch the full video of that creme de la German creme Rolls Royce brand's new car :?:

I see Steve put up this other one a few pages back viewtopic.php?p=729754#p729754

This one is from the Rolls Royce horse's mouth so I wouldn't expect any negatives...

It even has a German voice over guy CEO of Rolls Royce as it turns out.

Codswallop. They are just perfecting increasing their bank balance.
I won't be purchasing their wares any time soon.

Another one on its way to Europe, built in the land of the coal-fired power station. Still saves Europe a bit of steel making, battery making, and car assembly and all the scarce energy making things consumes.

Is it the concept the old continent has been waiting for, a disruptive affordable electric car for the masses. No, not enough profitability in that segment of the market just yet so it isn't happening.

Here's what it is...a SUV Coupé from Chinese start-up ai-ways. (Well not quite a proper coupé looks like it has 4 doors)
https://media.ai-ways.eu/2022/press-kit ... suv-coupe/
Lifestyle alternative: with its confident and dynamic styling, the new Aiways U6 SUV-Coupé makes its mark.
Advanced networking: The new AI Cabin sets standards not only ergonomically, but also in terms of connectivity.
Intelligent further development: More power with higher efficiency thanks to Aiways’ own AI-PT powertrain with 160 kW peak power and up to 400 km range according to WLTP.

That thing looks atrocious... I do like the colour though... It's only redeeming feature...

It's not a car, like the Citroen Ami is not a car, and the Renault Duo is not a car.

Urban mobility rather than Land's End to John O'Groats road trips, family holidays, or lapping the Nürburgring at a rate of knots.

It's in Italian as a novelty...I'm sure he will be doing a repertoire of Italian motoring reviewer cliches . It's not difficult to find english speaking reviews, or to slap on subtitles should you wish. I often find the Italian version of Inside EVs with a bit of translation is far better than the USA dominated "mainstream" global offering.

As they say in many Italian-eating establishments

Enjoy!

Chinese Lotus anyone :?:

For those impressed with such things it irrelevantly does 0-60 in under 3 seconds. Few more pics in the article but you may discern it's one of those SUV things, but no ordinary SUV it's an all-electric hyper-SUV. wow!
