Re: Electric Cars:what's available?
Can't see that on my machinery, but I expect its about the Doc in USA doing a Vasectomy powered by his Rivian!
Saw it on one of the EV sites the other day.

What's wrong with a blowlamp? Cheaper than a Rivian.

I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

Re: Electric Cars:what's available?
Available...not quite. It's done the Alpha, the Beta, this is the Gamma, almost but not quite the production Delta.

One of the commentsYes, a bit "weird" as in an EV industry disruptive way. An emphasis on EV efficiency, as in light weight, low drag coefficient, and solar assist, has been long overdue in EV design.
Current designs with massive front grills, huge battery packs, and weighing two to four tons only increases costs of production and ownership.

Colour is very reminiscent of an Avenger Tiger but there sadly, the similarities end...

Put a rear end of a Tiger on POTD today, but this is a much better image of the Avenger Tiger in all its glory, cropped up on the Counties in the Spotlight Thread with a Bristol Reg. Re: Electric Cars:what's available?
Stellantis, and its many marques, are building up a decent stable of 100% EV's and coming to the UK in 2023 they have added the Peugeot E-308, and yes the Peugeot e308 Station Wagon...or SW as these things are beginning to be labelled.
With all these box shaped SUV things with enormous batteries being lugged around energy economy (fuel consumption) is pretty poor. The Peugeot e308 if figures are to be believed reports around 5 miles/kWh (12.7kWh/100 km as they like to report it.)

Re: Electric Cars:what's available?
In the EV news again because it produced a drag coefficient of 0.175 in WLTP tests. Its slippery shape and efficiency are more important than the solar element. Its energy economy is 5.9 miles/kWh.Hell Razor5543 wrote: 21 Aug 2022, 07:50 This will be available in the near future. I spotted it on the BBC Click program this weekend.

Re: Electric Cars:what's available?
Now this could be hard work, lots of charts calculations and assumptions, but probably a decent coverage of the state of production-ready solar EV's in 2022 with the three leading contenders...Sion, Aptera, and Lightyear.

Re: Electric Cars:what's available?
Great Wall's potentially disruptive EV the "Ora Good Cat", has made it to Europe and Peter Vardy's branded as the "Ora Funky Cat". With the passage of time, it has arrived in Europe/UK not at a disruptive price, but at a price which fits in with what they are competing with in Europe.

Great Wall have an outlet up in the at Coldstream, so every chance funky cats may make their way to the Borders.

NewcastleFalcon wrote: 31 Oct 2021, 10:05 Avid readers of the this thread will have come across Great Wall's Ora Brand Jonny, but nice walk through. Would have liked it to be a little more disruptive in price point. Chinese Standard Price £11,500, but unfortunately Europe's market is overpriced, and who would blame them for looking at the spec of their own car, and the competition, and just pricing it at a start price of £25,000 (before plug in grant) couple of thousand under its rivals, rather than being truly disruptive.
As reported here ( viewtopic.php?p=698917#p698917 ) Great Wall and Barcelona have been cosying up for a European manufacturing base.
