Rolls Royce developing the Pegasus engine, that later was used in the Harrier?
Pioneering Days at Rolls Royce in Nottinghamshire in the 50's... On looking at Wiki the Pegasus engine was designed by Bristol Siddeley and manufactured by Rolls Royce. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rolls-Royce_Pegasus
Wiki has a list of musicians from Nottinghamshire, I haven't bothered to check, and the list is undoubtedly "full of omissions" so I have just picked out the ones I recognise or could be bothered to click on.
John Crocker.....played on "Shooting Star" for Elton John.
Corrine Drewery....Swing Out Sister lead Vocalist
Andy Fletcher....Depeche Mode
Paul Kevin Joyce....Wrote the theme tune "Can we Fix it" for Bob the Builder.
Sheku Kanneh-Mason...young cellist, played at Harry and Megan's wedding
Alvin Lee....didnt have to look him up at all Ten Years After guitarist
Ric Lee....drummer from Ten Years After
Leo Lyons bassist Ten Years After
Ian Paice....no looking up required drummer with Deep Purple
John Parr...the St Elmo's Fire man
Graham Russell "I'm all out of Love"...band Air Supply
Alvin Stardust moved to Mansfield from Muswell Hill at a young age
Nice round up of trivia, but rather than select a musical contribution, lets go back to where we started, and the theme from the TV show The Adventures of Robin Hood with Richard Greene.....surely Nottingham's best loved tune.
Enjoy!
I'd moved it on a minute before your post Mick so I have edited the original move on to get your reply into Nottinghamshire's day!
New contributors always welcome. Join in with the finder outers, and join in obviously if the County is your patch or you have memories or associations with it.
The moving hand of time has moved on and the dayish in the spotlight passes from Nottinghamshire to the next one.

Well done and thanks Neil, my fault, I'd said I was done with Notts!!
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!
An early strike from me. Mongomeryshire has claims to be the source of the Severn, the Wye and the Rheidol
As much as the "sources" of rivers cannot pinned to a particular location up on the hills draining a large area, you could stick a marker post up anywhere and say its the source, but I suppose the Severn way has to have an end point. However rather than show a picture of a post and some flagstones supposedly marking the source of the Severn, here is where the embryonic Severn starts its flow in one of its proper little burns.
That's Albert Lee Steve not the Ten Years After guitarist Alvin. Albert would be bang on topic for Herefordshire's Day in the spotlight we have already had. Nice enough though to have a distraction into Emmy Lou Harris, but no link I can manufacture into Montgomeryshire, as we have left Nottinghamshire behind now although I'm sure there is a tenous one we could devise

Well I think I have rescued it with "Angel from Montgomery" although that will be Montgomery USA
