Admittedly I use Shell Vpower E5 but that was £1.67.9 when I filled up on Friday!!

£1.55 here in freezing cold, wet and windy Wales at Tesco, but £1.56 at Gulf where I get mine and the Super Diesel £1.61.

One of my daughters posted that there's 24p difference in diesel from Asda to another garage in New Brighton. Seems a bit excessive.

It was around £1.60-£1.70 on the A19/A66 yesterday.
£1.85 at Tamworth services!

Found this as a bit of Trivia. The AA have done the work, and strangely its on the citroenhyonline site.

Petrol Prices from 1896 to 2005 just a couple of pages of the average prices for petrol at the pumps, (or in a 2 gallon can for the early part of the 20th Century). Prices in old money (d) up to 1971, new money after decimalisation (p) and expressed in good old fashioned price per gallon throughout.

It strikes me that there is an awful lot of wasteful road use and high on that list is home deliveries and fast food deliveries.
I live in a cul-de-sac of 40 houses and every few minutes there is a delivery van here, a few multi-drop but the majority just a single delivery and mostly fast food.
This is from about 8 a.m. until near midnight. Sometimes several times a day to the same houses. They must have forgotten what cooking is.
All cars - mo motorcycle of bike deliveries round here, many of them big posh cars, Mercedes, Audi, BMW and the more expensive ones too.

2.03 euro today at our local supermarket. Filled up both cars on Saturday at 1.73... It is about time the governments reduced the tax on fuel. BBC News this morn says crude oil has not been this high since 2008. but I don't remember pump price being this high

Just been up the road, there are 2 fuel stations here, the one at the end of our road is 157.7 for diesel (Gulf unmanned) the one at the top of the town (Esso, manned) which is always a little bit more expensive is 170.9 Possibly they've had a later delivery which is at a higher price, but both were about 152 when I filled up last week. I wonder if we will be at 2.00 by the month end, I remember the protests when it went over a pound, I wonder if the physchological barrier of 2 quid a litre will trigger something similar....

Just checked on the cost of heating oil, the last fill I had was 30 something p per litre, today it's 117p. I am very much hoping that it goes down before I have to fill it up again.

If 117p / litre is translated to diesel with 58p/litre tax and 20% VAT, the pump price is 181p/litre - and crude is up sharply again this week. I fear the £2 litre is not far away....

I paid 1€09 for heating fuel 6 weeks ago, heating fuel isn't diesel, it has an octane, though a boiler will run on diesel. Went up to Paris Sunday, fuel was hitting 2€11 on the motorway
