Re: First day thread
I've gone for the Troggs they come up with some simple but effective pop songs. I like deep meaningful lyrics
REgards Neil.

Oh no, ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba Ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba
I can't stand still 'cos you've got me goin' Ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba

Re: First day thread
Meanwhile, pre-pink ping pong ball, this was what a small corner of Northumberland looked like on New Year's Day January 2022. You can't photograph wind, but as well as being very mild, it was very windy.

Re: First day thread
From a philosophical point of view I trust the story here has no bearing on the pink ping pong ball issue?

I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!

No, but I have just spent a few minutes reading through the post. Great find Mick, who would have thought there was a "thing" specifically about Pink Ping Pong Balls!mickthemaverick wrote: 01 Jan 2022, 13:40 From a philosophical point of view I trust the story here has no bearing on the pink ping pong ball issue?![]()

Re: First day thread
Philosophical New Year's Day Corner.
Smell the flowers, spot a pink ping pong ball in the roadside verge, ponder how it got there then kick it half a mile down the hill, never letting its progress be stopped by headwind, or a veering off course to either side of the road.
Exchange pleasantries with any observers of the child like behaviour, and receive a cheery..."Carry on, keeps you young!"
When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me...well not entirely as Joni's track...Side 1 Track 4 on Hejira...A Strange Boy concludes.....give me one good reason why

REgards NeilHe keeps referring back to school days
And clinging to his child
Fidgeting and bullied
His crazy wisdom holding onto something wild
He asked me to be patient
Well I failed
"Grow up!" I cried
And as the smoke was clearing he said
"Give me one good reason why"

Re: First day thread
Now this thread would be a little more interesting if on the first day of a new month we had a joiners-in fest.

Re: First day thread
So we have had 1 indoor picture taken this very day, on to an outdoor picture of the original bargain basement Clio returning temporarily for its annual MOT getting through holiday.

Re: First day thread
That was February's appeal and the "joiners-in" fest hoped for failed to trouble the scorers.NewcastleFalcon wrote: 01 Feb 2022, 11:52 Now this thread would be a little more interesting if on the first day of a new month we had a joiners-in fest.
So undeterred the first day is upon us again. New month first day original pictures, new month calendar pages etc etc but an original image done/taken this very day. Thread expires at the end of today.
Calendars are turning Chez Falcon to kick todays contributions off.

Re: First day thread
This doesn't qualify for the Classics under 10k thread but I can't think of many better pictures to fill up this thread with, cold, wet and miserable as it's been all day!! All you need is a quick lottery win and you could fill your boots with arguably the most exciting car Citroen have ever built!!
Full details for you lucky lottery winners here!

Re: First day thread
Looks like Northumberland may have got the best of the weather today, but if you've had drizzly and damp no barrier to joining in and contributing to the first day thread with a drizzly damp view from the window
