Its changed! Back in 2001 Beckwith and Son ran an Antique Business if their notice is to be believed. Looks like it is an art gallery now as Dormouse pointed out

Indeed well done. Are you prepared to disclose youe method of deductionDormouse wrote: 08 Oct 2021, 12:34 st Mary's church Gosforth Pole and celebrated Viking Hogback tombs

We have driven through the Cumbria Gosforth on the way to Ravensglass and Eskdale Railway, and had I known I would have paused for a visit and a photograph or two.
It was Steve's use of the word Ragnarök this morning, which had me looking it up on wiki. Which mentioned the Gosforth Cross. That caught my eye because of Gosforth on the Great North Road out of Newcastle, but its the Gosforth in Cumbria.

Re: Pickled Egg Quiz
I had no idea about the St Mary's church but I Wikied Ragnar and also got the gist of Ragnarok on there as well. I did a search for churches with Norse/viking connections and then trawled a very large number of churches until I came across one in Visit Cumbria - bingo.
In years gone by it would have been Encyclopedia Brittanica, a darkened room and a doctor's line to find these answers.

May be the wrong reference but I said "Gasforth" not Gosforth.

Not a detective search for this. Just a simple set of questions on the subject which the cream of UK Universities know less about than 13th Century Popes...

Re: Pickled Egg Quiz
Lucky to go to many different places on holiday in the UK in virtually every County at one time or another which helps with the geography questions. One of the ones missing was Lincolnshire, which from up north you skate past but rarely go through, so we had a midweek break near Lincoln itself a couple of years ago just due to never having been there before. Similar thing with short holidays in Herefordshire, and Betws-y-Coed in North Wales.
