I can remember when this was a relatively new radar station with a dish on it, although we are a couple of miles inland ,it used to interfere with the TV's I was working on in the workshop. Used to hear 'blip blip' every few seconds. Haven't been up there for years.

That one nose down in the Sweetwater Canal was helped on its way by the Egyptian trucker's trick of giving them a nudge by swaying his mile high cotton load.

Not a clue but I would guess Turves is Somerset or Devon?

Looked it up so I was way off, however a bit disturbing that I didn't know because I worked in Longthorpe Manor for three months!!

I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!

A traditional Sami food storage house (the Sami are northern Norwegian, Swedish, Finnish and Russian nomadic deer herders).
As soon as I saw it I thought of the hut of Baba Yaga from Mussorgsky's "Pictures At An Exhibition"

We had a BX19 TRS estate of which I cannot find a picture, but I never did aspire to a CX!!

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
Had three CX 25DTR Safaris the last a turbo Mk2, Brilliant cars. I did around 150k miles in that one. We also had a BX TZD estate, that was a nice car, my wife particularly liked its nippiness, she could get out on to the A35 into the traffic quite rapidly. We eventually gave it to our son and someone ran into it when it was parked and wrote it off.
