I have seen some error messages indicating that the forum http server process has been crashing, but there is no record of that in the actual server logs.
I think that this is a phantom error resulting from a recent update of the server software, but would like to know if these errors were visible to users.
I have now reverted to a different (perhaps slower) server package until I get some more information, so the errors should be gone.
Anyone noticed 503 errors from the forum in the last day or two?

The only thing I saw Mike was when I clicked on Marc's link to POTD in the picture error thread on Friday, it responded with "This topic does not exist." However accessing POTD directly was ok. Don't know if that is relevant!
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!

Hi Mick, that was a post I deleted after I sorted the image upload issue, and probably as it was fixed more quickly than expected, so the post was not needed.mickthemaverick wrote: ↑22 Aug 2021, 07:49 The only thing I saw Mike was when I clicked on Marc's link to POTD in the picture error thread on Friday, it responded with "This topic does not exist." I've not noticed any 503 Server unavailable Errors at all Mike.

Nothing unusual here (apart from the attachments issue, now fixed) and no error codes.

No 503 errors for me.

I contacted the support site for the server package (openlitespeed) and within 6 hours they have release a new version, so I have now installed that and we will see what happens.
The speed of response is impressive, I presume that the package is maintained by volunteers (the connection with the commercial Litespeed software is not entirely clear to me).
