What do you know about Australia?

Unread post by NewcastleFalcon »

As a welcome to new members from Aussie Frogs to the FCF refuge a thread for a bit of Australian centric chat banter and nonsense.

Now Monty Python afficionados will see the wonderful "what are the chances of that happening :?: " in that the first Aussie Frogs member to reach the FCF life raft has a user name Bruce! (Bruce H to be precise)

In 1918 the whole of Australia went into quarantine (around 5,000,000 population), to protect them against the Spanish 'Flu.

Hmmm - the EV video has French (masculine) spelling of “Australian” in the government logo - should we be getting all 1066 about who’s behind it, or is it just emphasising how “alien” Australia is? :)

(I had a casual job in London with BT briefly in the mid 80’s, and had a regular caller who couldn’t believe any Australian would actually claim to be called Bruce.)

I've got a large extended family in and around Brisbane, my brother emigrated on the £10 scheme in 1970 with his wife and six kids, all have married and had children/ grandchildren, the count now must be approaching a hundred. :)
