Re: C5 X7 2-in-1 navigation tutorial
Yes 2.86 is the last version to date - and no - don't update it! If you do, there is a high risk that you will lose configuration and features, requiring a dealer visit and diagnostic fee to restore everything! The update is a major firmware release and as you are updating from an older vehicle it will lock the ECU into secure mode after the update. You can't restore or configure it with Diagbox - as it needs Citroen technician access and internet-connected configuration.
So if there are no issues, leave it alone. The RT6 thread is full of owners who have had to have this done after the 2.86 update.

Gracias

Can't guarantee accuracy of translation.Hello everyone, very good forum.
I have a question and it is to know where I can get the cables of the right and left channel of the ng4 to insert a high / low converter and thus send the signal to the amplifiers by RCA
My car has an original amplifier but I want to get the GPS signal, is it possible? Or can I get the signal out of the subwoofer?
Thank you

It is rather gabled but that could be the fault of the Google translation.

Re: C5 X7 2-in-1 navigation tutorial
Hello colleagues! I have installed three weeks ago a SMEG+IV2 unit on a Citroen DS3 originally equipped with a RD4 Radio, and everything fine till now. But on Sunday, after proceeding also to set on Present in BSI the attributes in few places (maybe too many places), I have got after two days from the config an error on CAN communication lost with BSI and EML light on, as a permanent fault, which, by the way, have been deleted easily and not reappearing today. Is it possible to find out exactly which parameters need to be modified on present on BSI so that I will no get that error anymore? Maybe I should have left all the attributes mentioning about a telematic or navigation unit on Absent, as by car is 2011 and the SMEG+IV2 Unit is from 2017, what do you think? But even so, should I set on absent now also the small display and the radio or?
I tend to believe that the error comes from a bad configuration that I did in BSI. VIN Code of the car is VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff].
Thank you!

I attach here also the errors. In the meantime I have set the configuration in BSI back to original, also deactivating the display of the parking sensors distance on the screen.

If it helps for the configuration and comparing mine with the donor car one, please find also the VIN Code from the car which my SMEG+IV2 was mounted before: VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]. I assume if I am able to compare all settings from BSI with the donor car, I can figure it out what settings to make in my car now.

I don't see what would ESP got to do with Telematics unit (SMEG+IV2)?
No point comparing BSI settings from the donor car as I suppose it's different model, year and equipment to yours?
You may set small monochrome display and (RD4) radio as Absent. That should throw no fault, especially not EML.
Best you run Fault check with Diagbox (which version, btw?) and there you'll see which ECUs are present and which are not.
Take a note (picture) and from there you can set those ECUs in BSI Present/Absent and you should be fine.
Maybe a BSI reset is also a good idea to set it all right (you'll google out the right procedure for Citroen).
On a side note, check the status of your starter battery. Too long time on ignition only (for Diagbox fiddling) can wear it out and that's when tha battery starts playing weired...
PS: SMEG+IV2 is a locked unit and without paid subscription to Servicebox and authorised access to Stellantis serves you won't be able to change anything within Telematics ECU. Which is not the problem, because there's nothing to change there (given that it has your VIN now and there's no BEEP every second)?

I was also not sure why the error on ESP, but it was not connected to it directly - the error came from CAN therefore affected Engine ECU showing the EML and ESP ECU storing the fault above.
Actually it make sense to compare the settings from BSI, but for sure not all, only the ones related to Telematics, Screen, Radio.
I have set now the Display and Radio RD4 to Ansent, therefore no faults in BSI. The big problem appears when I set on present the Telematic Sistem on BSI ECU Presence and on Confort in BSI. I tend to believe that the unit tries to communicate with my BSI, and due to the SW version of the BSI, this CAN Fault comes - but still not sure about this hypothesis.
BSI Reset was done, battery is three months old.
My SMEG+IV2 Unit has not the VIN Written on it - I did this with Diagbox 7.40 logging in as a Peugeot 208- You can bypass the server connectivity and change only the VIN, no other settings allowed.
And now, with Diagbox 9.96, still not possible to change settings in SMEG without a subscription (which I will take soon). I have one fault stored in SMEG, something related to Configuration Security file..., but the unit works very well, also Car Play.

Re: C5 X7 2-in-1 navigation tutorial
Yeah, it all makes sense what you wrote...
And you've pulled a good trick with changing the SMEG's VIN with old 7.40 Diagbox!
Another thing that comes to my mind is maybe you need CAN converter? SMEG+IV2 can't communicate with pre 2010 CAN. Your DS3 is 2011 but being with RD4 it may not have been equipped with updated BSI (which version says Diagbox, btw?) hence the error in communication?
@GiveMeABreak will know more about CAN converter...

Regarding the CAN Converter, I don't think it is needed, because my SMEG Unit sees the network and displays temperature, time, parking sensors, all alerts from the car, like Faults - if any -, even reducing the interior light together with the dashboard lights and so on. It's all a matter of configuration or incompatibility (let's call it partially compatibility
