Yet another annoying presenter. At least he isn't American.

I did mention that I liked a simple chrome hub cap and the Foden lorries of my youth always looked smarter than the average lorry when dressed in their chrome hubcaps.

Bit of a flash of them here, but the video plays on and its an interesting ride. Nice bit of large horizontal steering wheel wrestling, and big two stroke diesel revving nicely up through the gears. It was an entertaining enough 8 minutes for me. What's all the intermittent hissing going on? Air brakes?

What a beautiful restoration on the lorry. Enjoyed that immensely!! As for the hissing, there are two different hisses heard, the short sharp hiss in sync with gear changes and the slightly lower pitched and longer hiss of the air brakes. I am guessing that the shorter higher pitched ones are either the sound of a pneumatic clutch, if such a thing exists, or possibly some sort of bizarre rev limit indicator? Hopefully one of our HGV members will be able to shed more light on it!! :)

That hissing is the 'range change' lever to the right of the steering wheel. It looks like an indicator stalk. You had to use it in conjunction with the main gearbox in order to make good progress. The ranges were probably 'direct', 'low', and 'even lower' :-).
Sadly no longer a C5 owner :(

My todays spot on Favourite Colours for Cars thread.

If you ever see a very bright "racing Orange" Mazda Mx5....could well be one of these 30th Anniversary Specials

They always make such hard work of it. Even harder to listen to than supercar blondie.
Sent to daughter #2 who has one - not that one though.

Just watched that and despite being a true MX5 fan I can honestly say it did nothing at all for me. Don't like the colour combination, didn't think much of the presentation or the presenter for that matter!! :( :( :(
