Right at the start I said there was no threshold of interestingness Richard :-D This part of the forum would be extremely dull if it only had posts on things that were "of interest to many".

Another excellent contribution and don't stop there! Keep pitching in, its what keeps the forum flowing :-D .

I have come across a few pics of ours, which I noticed the old probably 50's or 60's small tiled fireplace with a gas fire sitting in front of it when we first moved in. Totally out of proportion and place in a Victorian high-ceilinged room, and removed but still on the old photo's.

The fireman in the middle in the second photo was our next door neighbour.

Just to wake up the thread here's one I did earlier.
A rather posh bus stop in Santa Barbara California.

Santa Barbara is well known for its tiles I discover, Mexican/Spanish influence. Makes a nice job of otherwise drab stairs

Indoor photography of page 140 of the 1971 Earls Court Motor Show catalogue.

Too easy and too many clues in the advert for a proper testing whatsthisthen? but a minor delve or memory work-out to recall the right make and model.
whatsthisthen?

from the guff at the back of the catalogue Skoda's offerings at the time were just a little cheaper! So not a Skoda.

It isnt a Moskvich Paul

They did have a 412 model. Their 412 saloon according to the list at the back was £572.00 plus PT of £144.88.

Youre just about there Mick.....sure you can come up with a model name. The words in the ad do say that it is a 3 cylinder 2-stroke,

The only one I can remember was the Wartburg 353?
A colleague on BT who worked at Garston ATE had a beige 353 and the reason the number sticks in my mind is that it was also the number of Dad's paper shop account which I had to go and pay on alternate Saturdays. Dad used to give me or my sister, on the other days, 2 florins to go and "pay the papers". We were allowed to spend the change on sweets in the shop but I used to keep it towards my die cast collection! :-D
