Been using the Pug as it's slippy everywhere, so the Picasso has not been out for a few days, it's grown some impressive ice crystals!

About -9 currently, wife is gearing up to go for a dip in a local loch. I am taking the splitting maul to break the ice😜
Are you serious about the dip? Being from the Antipodes I know we are supposed to have a similar sense of humour, but I'm not always sure when my leg's being pulled

If in fact there was a mid-winter's dip, would love to see pictures!!

I'm making the most of my 'one permitted outdoor exercise session per day' during lockdown...

Not sure if running nearly a half marathon under this rule is totally in the spirit of the law but hey-ho... It's early and I'm not really in close contact with anyone...

This village scene caught my eye this morning during my run...

The story of the search for the Barry Cade Garage Casebook from Car Mechanics resulted in this award to our Mick.
Well today rummaging around I find that in all the internet searching failing to produce a definitive answer until Mick unearthed a physical copy of the magazine, I find I do have the July 1979 Car Mechanics Magazine, with the said Barry Cade with his trade tricks and garage casebook splashed over 2 pages!

Over to Remember these all our yesterdays for the photographic evidence.....

Well I dont hand these out like confetti but that is one tremendous find, and it confirms my own memory of Barry Cade's Garage Casebook a superb subtitle to his regular Trade Tricks Column!

Bullseye Mick!

I give you the FCF légion d'honneur (Barry Cade)

And it was so long ago that I read it that I remember nothing at all. It is hanging around here somewhere.

This picture fits into at least three threads so I decided to promote it to POTD because it is iconic, indoor, memory invoking and a little mystery. Anybody recognise it well enough to name the maker? :-D (For scale I'd say it is less than 2" long)

Had occasion to look up lledo toys recently, made originally in Enfield and set up by Jack Odell in 1976 they made Vanguards, a series of die-cast 1:43 (and 1:64 commercial) scale model vehicles designed for the adult collector spanning half a century of motoring in Britain. Originally sometimes called the "Fifties and Sixties Classic Collection" and with the motto 'Setting the standard'. They were first produced from 1996-1999 under the ownership of Lledo, with the first model being the VA1000 Navy Blue Ford Anglia 105E. Since 2008, Vanguards have been produced under the ownership of Hornby PLC.

By 1998, Vanguard's parent company, Lledo PLC, was the largest die-cast model making company still manufacturing in Great Britain employing around 300 people, and producing over 6 million models per year.

Various subsequent takeovers and rebrandings occured.
Anyway I suspect yours is not a more modern replica but very probably an original Matchbox by Lesney! although this example looks windowless!
