That's bang-on Neil Love the old signal box...

Only a tiny part of it exits now as a long siding to serve a depot near Banbury where lots of surplus rolling stock is stored...

Not far from Gaydon actually...

It joined the Northampton to Bedford Line at our mystery location

That line is now totally gone although a bit of it remained in use up until the late 70s to serve an ammunition dump and an even smaller bit of it until early this century to serve a factory making rail panels in Northampton...

..and the first thing I noticed about that picture....the insulators on the telegraph pole! I think I need to revisit my rubber or Gutta Percha insulators and start a collection!

The Alnwick to Cornhill Railway still has this in situ and I took a photo of it on a trip out the other day.

Today's ride destination had both a horological and remembrance theme...

The clock tower in Emberton, near Olney...

It was built in 1846 as a memorial to the Rector's wife... The church is nearby...

After WW1 it became the village war memorial...

It has these two plaques on it...

A lot of money in 1972...

Dedication to the Rector's wife?

Marshall is a local company to us Neil, they've been just down the road in Bletchley for ever...

Although they make all their guitar amps in Bletchley I very much doubt those speakers are made there...

I suspect a generic Chinese one badge engineered and styled in the house style...

I use a Bluetooth speaker frequently and had one for years, mine's called a 'Juicebar'

Very handy when some portable music is needed...

I looked closely at this block and the surrounding area but it gives no clues as to what it was for.

They may be just "humble Anti-Tank Blocks" plenty of them on the Northumberland Coast, but

....They can be found inland as well as on the coast.

Anti-tank blocks are almost always associated with defences of the Second World War; whilst tank warfare was used in the First World War, it was a late war technology and therefore anti-tank defences were not considered as part of World War One defensive landscapes in Britain.

Anti-tank cubes are the most common type of these defences; usually 3ft x 3ft or 5ft x 5ft in dimension.
