Audio and satnav
Hi everyone I've just bought a c5 on a 07 1.6hdi, the radio and satnav don't work, the screen lights up and says citroen then it goes blank and nothing seems to work. Anybody know what's going on because I really haven't a clue lol Thanks

Re: Audio and satnav
It may help if we knew what system you have. Pop your VIN (auto masked by software) up so I can see what you system you have fitted.

Re: Audio and satnav
Ok so on your MK II C5 it will be the older RT4 system:
Do you have the original Software CD with the car? If not ask your Citroen dealer to order you one on CD. The last version available is V8.11 (part: 9679242580) and see if that will fix the issue. They only cost a few quid to order so have not got anything to loose. They are not made anymore, so if the software won't fix it, try a BSI reset using this procedure:
BSI Reset / Battery Disconnect / Reconnect Procedure
Sometimes a complete system power down can reset the system as the power on the units is retained when the ignition is off.
Follow the instructions exactly at the relevant parts (ignore the bits for electric tailgates and Stop Start / Keyless vehicles). Pay attention to the timings and do not fiddle with any switches or open doors during the timings.

Re: Audio and satnav
Try the BSI reset first - as that costs nothing apart from time. Then you can try and update the firmware if that doesn't work.

Re: Audio and satnav
It sounds like a boot problem - and this may be as a result of internal corruption / chip problem. You have nothing to loose trying to boot from the CD and see if that will restore the system, but failing that, it will likely need repairing or replacing.

Re: Audio and satnav
Your screen should be fine and will save having to remove the fascia. Just make sure you code the new unit with your VIN and make sure you disconnect the battery before you remove / install the new one.
Also, you may have to configure the new unit to match your factory-fitted options.

Right I’ve got hold of Citroen near me and they wasn’t any help at all they also said they don’t have any cds. Now I’m not sure what to do, if I could find someone with lexia where I live that would be a big help.

Have a look in the Lexia Locations thread - there is a list of members there and a map link at the bottom showing locations.
