Hi guys,
My central locking is acting up (oh no another central locking thread – I know).
Anyway, the two left doors (passenger side in the UK) don’t work anymore. My car is LHD (Norway) so one of the affected doors is the drivers door. Using the key, it opens/locks the two right doors and the boot, while the left ones don’t react. Mirrors fold/unfold and turn signals confirm. Same deal using the remote / key FOB.
I’ve got two faults in the BSI: F52A & F5FF (see picture).
F5FF will erase, but it comes back. F52A won’t erase at all.
I pulled the BSI and checked all the relay coils and the resistance values are all consistent and seem fine. I’ve reset the BSI multiple times but still have the same issue. All fuses are OK, including the one soldered to the board of the BSI.
Does anyone have a clue what’s going on?
Any input is highly appreciated.

Re: C3 Picasso 2013, central locking issue
The F52A is the main one - as it says, there is a problem with communication / power. I would first check the obvious - the loom between the door to the bulkhead that carries all the wires - these can become brittle and crack through opening and closing the doors and of course, the driver's side in your case is going to be the most used and the likely culprit. There should be a grommet protecting the loom that yiou can remove to see if there is anything obvious, then checking back.
Pop your VIN up and I'll see if I can get a wiring diagram up for you.

Hi,
Thank you very much for your input, I'll check the wiring loom as good as I can.
VIN number is VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]

Re: C3 Picasso 2013, central locking issue
Does it have the auto lock function when you start driving?
Assume it is similar to the older system on my 2005 C4 then there are 2 seperate wires for the locking/unlocking.
one works the locks for the auto lock, the other does the key/fob locking.
Probably wrong on the newer cars but just an idle thought.

It does have the auto lock feature, however I've turned it off by pressing the button for x seconds.
Using the button comes with the same result as key & key fob.

Here you go:
Most of the wiring equipment codes can be found here on our Wiki page - they are in sections in number hierarchy: I've included the location diagram underneath to show where the harnesses referred to are and equipment.

Re: C3 Picasso 2013, central locking issue
I only mentioned it as it caused me so much aggro chasing down the issue i had.
When you say the LH door locks are not working what is it that those doors are not doing.
If you sit in the car and use the key fob to lock and then deadlock the doors ( lock button twice ) can you open the LH doors from inside the car.
If you lock the car with fob/key if you open the drivers door ( LHD so LH door) does it unlock all other doors and boot ( no key/fob used ) if LH door is not locked from outside.
Just thinking along the lines of my experience when car would lock with key and fob could not open door from inside when deadlocked but could be opened from outside and unlocked all doors and boot
Colin
*********** EDIT **************
I have not explained what i meant correctly.
I am assuming the LH doors are not locked from the outside, ie you can open both doors even if the rest of the car is locked from the outside including the boot.
If you cannot open the affected doors from the inside when deadlocked ( double locked sp? ) but can from the outside then the locks work but as from experience i believe they work on 2 separate looms then it will probably be a wiring break in the loom as it enters the door itself. Why both LH doors are suffering i guess it will be a common feed to both on the same loom

Re: C3 Picasso 2013, central locking issue
This car doesn't have the deadlock feature.
If I lock the car with the key fob both RH doors and the boot will lock.
If I then pull the handle (inside or outside) of either LH door, the RH doors + boot unlocks.
If I prior to this lock the LH rear door manually, it will not unlock if I open the LH front door even though the RH doors + boot unlocks.
I've traced the wiring from both the LH doors and continuity checks out.
I agree with your common feed theory, question is just where is the malfunction?
Personally I believe it's the BSI.
Both LH doors failed simultaneously, and I have a hard time believing this is due to wiring. Considering the car is 2013 wiring shouldn't be that brittle yet.

Re: C3 Picasso 2013, central locking issue
Well for a start you can see from the diagram that each side has a separate earth point, so that is something to consider. It could also be a relay internal to the BSI. Also check Fuse 2

Hello,
Having exactly the same issue as OP. Has this issue been resolved and what was the solution?
Thanks

I'm having the exact same issues. Anyone have a fix for this?
