Hi all,
Just about to give up....
I can't understand why USB in my 2014 C4GP is not working properly. I mean every time I start the engine - radio starts from the first song in the USB drive. Jukebox works ok. I've tried to remove all tags and special symbols from mp3 files, formatted the drive, left only few folders, tried another drive. I use SanDisk 16GB and 32GB drives. There was a time when everything worked OK. Now after changing mp3 files on the drive, the radio does not want to cooperate again.
Even when LIST button pressed on the steering wheel you can see something strange. Normally the song that is playing will be highlighted and you can scroll up/down in. Now when LIST is pressed the first song in the first filder is highlightted. When scrolling, the highlighted line drops down by one line and the list in the screen starts with second song. Scroll another step and the screen will start with the third song.....
How to fix this annoying issue. I believe it is something simple.
If someone has some ideas, please tell me.
Thank you all.

Check the sampling rate you have converted the MP3s to. If the frequency is too high, they may not play.

Thanks for reply.
All songs are playing. No problems there. It's just when you start the engine, you will hear song number one again and not the song that was on before the engine was stopped...

Ok, I think this was the same with MP3s back on my RT3 Navidrive. But that used an MP3 CD as I could get over a hundred MP3s on that. I seem to recall having to skip the songs each time to get back to where I was.

Check the options for playing MP3s. I know that you can choose random (shuffle), maybe there's one there to start at the very beginning each time?

Re: C4 GP USB problems
It was a while ago now - but If you prefix your MP3s in numerical order (make sure you use double digits for numbers under 10), so depending on your preferences, I would have either a random selection in the route of the USB:
USB Route
01-Silver Lining
02-Rhythm of the Night
02-Cold as Ice
or
Create Albums of Artists, then within the album, apply the same principle:
>Bob Marley
>>01-One Love
>>02-Exodus
>Fleetwood Mac
>>Rumours
>>>01-The Chain
>>>02-Go Your Own Way
>>Mirage
>>>01-Gypsy
>>>02-Right Back

Re: C4 GP USB problems
Right now I am hoping that radio will build some library in the memory. I found information that it could take some time till radio understands what is in the usb drive. And then will work ok. Well....I hope.
At the moment in the USD brive I have simple setup. Just my tracks without prefixes or ID tags. The annoying bit is that everything was OK untill new tracks were added and some old deleted.

You can also create playlists and import those onto the USB along with the track hierarchy - and then form pressing the Menu when on the USB source, you should see Playlists highlighted.

Re: C4 GP USB problems
Did not work. Created .m3u files. Can't see them in Media List.
I believe I will try factory reset. Hope that will help.
In two weeks I will go to dealer for service. Updates are included so that is my backup plan.

When you are on the USB as the media source, then press the menu and select the PLAYLISTS menu option. If that is not greyed out, it will load up any playlists on the USB as long as they are not in a folder. Leave the playlist in the route of the USB.

Thanks for reply. Tried that. All gray.
Formatted USB drive to NTFS and then back to FAT32. Dropped about 20 tracks. So far so good. Tracks are in the root folder. Works as it should. Later will add more tracks with folders and hope it will stay OK.
