Hello again awesome people! First major error and electrical gremlin to show since I sold my Audi to use the citroen daily. Yesterday dash lights went out and auto driving lights stopped working, just turned the knob manually and went on Christmas shopping.
Today I was going home from work and noticed the rears don't light up, brake lights and flashers work.
Tomorrow I have a couple of hours to troubleshoot before work, any tips on where to start?
Checked fuses 4 and 9, they are OK. First thoughts go toward ignition wiring, which is the first thing I'll check in the morning.
Lucky me it's - 5c and dark pretty much all day and night these days so doing work is gonna be fun outside in the cold!
Thanks
Ole

Re: Need advice, no dash lights/rear lights Xantia
Is this a Scandinavian specification car with headlights that come on with the ignition?
I have not seen the wiring diagram for this system in a Xantia, but assuming that it is similar to the XM design, there will be 2 extra relays, one controls the tail light circuit, the other the low beam headlights.
There is probably an extra undocumented fuse that supplies power to the lights in DRL mode, but on a Xantia, i don't know where the fuse or relays are. I suspect that they are in or around the dashboard fusebox.

I have N/S/F (Scandinavian) circuits for XM, if needed.
Do we have the VIN for the car?

Yes, it's a Scandinavian 94 Xantia with lights that come on with ignition. Now that you mention it, I used to have a relay clicking intermittently that have since gone silent! Fuse box diagram is in the manual at least the ones in the cabin, driver side footwell.
Vin would be VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff].
Thanks for all the quick replies so far.

Thanks for the help people, was for sure a relay! Omw to my local Citro dealer atm. It came on while tapping but as you can see it's due for a replacement....

Well found!
That's a standard 12v automotive 30/40A relay, available anywhere.
Check out any other "front end" relays for dirty/oxidised base contacts. Common problem, not least in wet/icy climates.

This one is a 25a one, dealer wanted ~50£ for a new one. I sourced a 30a at a cheaper store for 1.5£white exec wrote: ↑19 Dec 2019, 08:59 Well found!

All well for now!

No wonder people avoid the dealers.

Around £3 would be expensive enough, so well done for shopping elsewhere!
