hello,
I have a Citroen C4 Grand Picasso VTR AIR ENDI S-A Auto,
in the last few weeks have been getting the following message, multimedia temporarily unavailable ,
also stops stops you being able to use some of the functions hands free, heating air con, etc
wondering if anyone has had the same problem some one suggested it was the cold weather, not convinced its that, it was coming on intermittently
but has now stayed on for two days

Your VIN will help identify the exact system you have.

However if it's a touchscreen system, these can overheat easily as the electronics that feed the screen are all behind the dash and there is little air circulation. Added to this if you have the heating on (where the matrix and pipes are also coming from) it can add to the problem. Sometimes it may restart a few times, or limit the volume of the radio / multimedia to reduce heat generation.

radio volume is ok touch screen is responsive from screen to screen jus won't let me do anything like control heat or select radio stations
or use hands free, was thinking of taking live feed off of battery for awhile and see if it re boots its self,

No - don't do that.These are very sensitive multiplexed electronic devices - they are usually controlled via the BSI and I would not recommend a live feed at all.

If it is playing up then a diagnostic with Diagbox will be able to provide some information, but please see my last post - we really need a VIN (automatically masked from public view) to be able to which system you have.

Ok, so you have an early SMEG system.

There are some know n issues regarding restarting of these units and there was a few firmware updates for the system. I would find out what software version you are on and get the dealer to update it (done via USB) as I don't have the SMEG firmware updates and it's important to get the correct one for your version.

Been getting this message on my C4 Grand Picasso since the service just before Christmas. Went into the dealer for a software upgrade on Tuesday, which cured it and was working OK on Wednesday. Today, it is back! Not so bothered about the radio stations - I can use the steering wheel controls - but it would be lovely to be able to djust the heating controls!!!

What message are you getting?
