Not open when we were there, not on the road, as no reg plates on it. Appears to have been stretched?

Nah it's just your eyes Richard. A trip to specsavers might be in order... :rofl2:

It's definitely longer than normal - if you look there are 3 sections between the wheels. However, looking at this page, there were LWB versions available, so it's probably factory stretched: http://hvanworld.co.uk/hvans.htm

Having a coffee table browse of Cumbria Life Magazine, at a randomly found cafe at Orton which would formerly have been in Westmorland, and a mere 1.5 miles away from the busy M6, I came across this...

Perhaps my daughter should get one.
She has recently begun doing vegan baking and has some market stalls and popup shops but a mobile shop might be a solution for her.

M6.....Birmingham-ish? (Edit..bit off the mark there after I looked it up much further east :) ).....Cakes and Bakes? Something to do with this lot perhaps....
Cakes and Bakes is University College Birmingham's own bakery, patisserie and confectionery shop, selling high-quality products at bargain prices.

Good idea Steve, probably at least £20,000 for a catering H Van, but shop rents for a few years are likely to be just as expensive, and the H van will always be an asset with a decent resale value. You could do some espionage for her and have a chat with this young lady featured in the Shields Gazette...

There's a 26 year old young girl doing her homemade cakes and Coffee down at Sandhaven at South Shields Steve. She has this "baby blue" Citroen H Van. The Shields Gazette article reckons she covers her pitch at Sandhaven during the school holidays.

Nice one Neil. Worth considering as the long term plan is a shop.
She has only just started and usually does markets at £20~£30 a go - Yarm, Darlington & Stockton mainly and a pop up shop in Darlington.
Bakes for a few established bakeries and has catered for a couple of weddings.

All still in it's infancy yet though.

Still playing catch-up.

Couple of particular interest in Coventry for the 100th: a very attractive SWB camper conversion for sale at a equally attractive price.
a not long dragged out of a hedge patina'd one: RHD - didn't think there was such a thing (Irish, Channel Islands market model?) - with exhausts before the front wheels! Then noticed the magazine on the driver's seat open at a feature entitled "Audi do it?" - so who knows what was hidden under that oh so rusty shell?

Snooping round Churston station on the Dartmouth Steam Railway, I discovered the organisation has an H-van (possibly a mobile booking office/merchandise stall/info. counter - ironically, it might be a converted catering van!) presumably purchased for its publicity value but which, oddly, seems to be kept hidden away. Particularly odd that it was not, at very least, entered in the commercial vehicle section at the Steam Fair, less than a mile up the road.
