Re: On your Bike
Come on "On your Bike" fans.
Can you tell me what decade this photograph was taken in? It could only have been one and at the time good old Maxwell House or Nescafe would have supplied the Coffee for the Coffee-Bar, not a freshly ground bean, or espresso machine in sight
Regards Neil

Re: On your Bike
Without the engine that's what I rode in my first job after leaving school, collecting parts for the garage workshop from main dealers and the like all around Birmingham.
A Gundle bike, the maker's factory was just along the road from the garage.

In the depths of wartime the Berwick Advertiser on 6 August 1915, carried this advertisment
" Don’t Swear Dunlop Advert". The same advert is framed on the wall of the Leaping Salmon Pub, at the Berwick end of the main road bridge over the Tweed.

Re: On your Bike
reminds me of stories from my Grandad who used to work at 'The Fort' many years ago on the bicycle side.
sneaking out with tyres wrapped diagonally across their chests under the heavy work coats...
and break times where they used to go to the Canal side and get a brew from the barge / canteen moored there...until someone spotted them filling the water boilers from the Canal!!

Mobile uploads a bit hit and miss out here in the sticks...
Came across this in the forest
1944 ze Germans arrested French Resistance here, tortured and killed then burnt down the building.
Managing to explore more than I thought, not been threatened by an irate farmer/ hunter yet.

Re: On your Bike
Checking the workout history on my tracker today, a rather disappointing 700 miles in the bikes this year, just on 2500 in the car, must try harder next year,
Couple of good rides past weekends though, ride on the coast in sub optimal conditions, and a few runs of the local 'mountain' - it's only 955ft hight but is as good as we get! Granite boulders strewn all over, some awesome runs off the sides, good dose of technical riding!
Back in the shed today for a tidy up and full drive train swap on a specialized sirrus and rear hub regrind and polish, new ball bearings and gear reset on a regulars boardman mtb,
