Despite the fascinatingly precise (and computerised) machinging - a joy to watch - both the brass end 'flywheels' turned out wobbly!

I have to agree there Chris, furthermore after watching the running sequence again it would seem to me that the smaller "flywheel" face seems to be not perpendicular to the crankshaft which suggests the fitting was not as accurate as the machining appeared to be. Possibly a case of by the time he got to the assembly he was fed up with the whole project

I found it odd that some parts of the manufacture were done with extreme care and precision, while other stages were just slapdash - eg the tapping of threaded holes. And as for cutting the con-rods patterns out with scissors, and then hand filing . . . WTF!!?? Shoddy set. of microswitches underneath, too.

For ha'poth of tar . . .

On the original subject of unusual engines, There is an old French guy a few KM from my house who has a full collection of strange and interesting engines and vehicles, This is an old Peugeot converted to run on Gazogene, Wood is heated and the gas it produces runs the engine
He has an open day once a year with all his stuff laid out around his garden and workshop, I have been every year for about 10 years and its a crackin, Free, few ours of entertainment

I wasn't aware that Tatra made an air cooled V8.
I'm surprised at how relatively quiet it is and how little oil it slings out with no rocker box covers fitted.
