It is indeed, subject of a whatsthisthen? at one time.

Glad the biscuit thing got sorted last night, I was beginning to find out more about biscuits than I ever wanted to know, without getting any nearer to the answer. Maria/Marie biscuits were important after the Spanish Civil War apparently but they were round, unlike your little rectangles with 35 holes in them :-D

"It became popular throughout Europe, particularly in Spain where, following the Civil War, the biscuit became a symbol of the country's economic recovery after bakeries produced mass quantities to consume a surplus of wheat."

Surely the biscuit* is the preferred delivery method for the cheese ?

*- assuming it's the correct type of biscuit for the cheese in question ?

If you ever want to expand your horizons into Porridge,

You could try this

8 things you (probably) didn’t know about Scott’s Porage Oats

(its owned by Pepsico!)

Regards Neil

PS---To keep it visual might as well have a picture-Number 8 of the things you didnt know about Scotts Porage Oats-the 1971 Promotions team

Had radio Newcastle on the car radio today. Fascinating I'm sure. They have one of these guess the year things from songs. Sugababes "Push the button" was one, and also getting to the point, the presenter gave the clue that it was the year Ronnie Barker passed away. Then played a quite an "ordinary" clip from Porridge which was worthy of my comment.....Surely you could have chosen a funnier clip than that! out of the catalogue of Ronnie Barkers finest moments from the series.

REgards Neil

and that gem of trivia has brought me up to all the "8"' s on posts to the FCF

Years since I have seen a Marie biscuit!
I had forgotten that they existed.

Cheese needs knäckebröd, or nackerbread as my wife would have it.
