Second tractor in a row from me....

From the "Engine that Powers the World" Timeshift documentary

Running a bit rich maybe they should have saved this bit for a follow up documentary "The Engine that Pollutes the World!"

.......dont be fooled by the MACKIES of Scotland logo it aint Portobello! and quite a long way from their HQ at Rothienorman in Aberdeenshire.

Easy enough, but the little video from my 7777 th post on the "Hard on Mr Softee" thread will reveal all.

I haven't looked at the video, but the picture looks like it's on the prom at Hove Actually, or possibly Brighton.

Local knowledge would have to prevail....I edited out Brighton from the sign. Of course as you would expect although the van is supposedly zero emission, I do believe it emits text messages to drum up trade, and no need for the operative to handle filthy cash as children with their pocket money cashless cards, or phones just pay for the ice cream in the new normal way.

Only just noticed the Pictures of the Day thread has had precisely 77,765 views this very moment... a mere 11 away from what I will call impossible coincidence/singularity or as musicians strive for Going for the one!

I will screen shot the moment for posterity and edit it in here. edit....and here it is...

POTD....The Glow Plug

Unread post by NewcastleFalcon »

This is a dud glow plug. Its been in place for 200,000 miles and I have just got back on the glow plug removal horse, after a traumatic incident summarised in this thread....

Glow Plugs Annihilate 2.0HDi Xsara Picasso

I had my trusty fairy liquid bottle filled with a mixture of ATF and Diesel, and adopted the "screw it in screw it out repeat" technique and tried to persuade as much lube as possible down the "hole" before using the "up down, up down, spin right spin left" repeat and out it came, intact, and remarkably clean as a whistle.

One success, still three more to go.

I have always had a hankering for a tractor but as we only have five acres and that's all down to grass I can't really justify one. We have what seems like miles of hedges so I would like a hedge trimmer - but they are expensive. I have a lawn tractor and trailer which does most things - except cutting hedges.

A local farmer cuts and bales the hay and in return cuts the hedges but they need doing again in the main growing season as you get lacerated by brambles going down the track.

If anyone has a cheap tractor and hedger cutter .....

Peter
