here's number 3, all 666K of it!
Wonder if I can keep the german theme going before anyone else puts us out of la misère allemande?

What could be more appropriate for the French Car Forum than a prile of Germans1 It is a picture
2 It was taken today
3 It links seamlessly on a German theme with yesterday's POTD, and the day before's POTD
4 It may encouage a less German Picture of the day submission from the assembled throng,

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
Quite amazing I thought considering the 406 only manages just over 60 mpg and the Merc is heavier and has a bigger engine. For the doubting Thomas's I did a brim to brim test while actually driving in Caithness and Sutherland which as you will know is pretty hilly. I filled up at Asda in Tain and it took 45.05 litres to cover 609 miles. I will leave you to work that out.

Not a parking attendant in sight Chris - and very little traffic, even the weather was good.

I'm using this picture of Torrisdale bay on the north coast of Scotland where we were last week, as an excuse for posting my MPG figures from my pseudo Peugeot ( Merc C220 Cdi estate)
I go away for a couple of days and come back to find POTD still clinging onto the German theme

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
Ghost Signs have made their appearance in POTD, a disappearing phenonemon, but many going unnoticed on gable ends and elsewhere in our vilages, towns and cities across Great Britain.
Cockermouth has a nice pair, one for Jennings Brewery an the other for Fletchers Fearless Clothing on the gable end of a former gents outfitter. When I took my pic I failed to notice the nice little police lamp above the former Police station next door.
If you notice one on your travels, take a pic and post it up here. Some have fascinating stories like the Robert Sinclair Tobacco Company of Newcastle. Read on from this Ghost Signs Link from the POTD archives to find out.
Regards Neil

This year's new arrivals at work
About a week old and still quite nervous. We had 7 cygnets last year as well so they (Bryant (cob) and May (pen) : mum and dad) must think 7 is a good number to have

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
Here's a snap of mine from the weekend.
Taken from the far side of the car, through the window. Just really like how the effect came out - especially in black and white.
Have added this one onto my wallpaper rotation now, which doesn't happen with all that many of my own snaps these days.
