You may or may not know there is a brick wall at Beamish Museum, made of bricks stamped with the yard name, from brickworks across the north east.

I discovered to day through Geograph, the story of Cowan's Brickworks, for me quite fascinating, all the links are there from this geograph image. The bricks stamped Cowan appear all over the world from Guadaloupe Oregon, Alcatraz, and Hobart, to a Sugar factory in Japan
