Yes, the R16 was the distinct winner in all ways... The R16 was precisely what the Maxi should have been...

I've carried goats and sheep in all sorts of estate cars. The secret is to get them out immediately you stop.

Weird to think the Ren 11 is probably rarer than the Imp now. It was bugging me that I couldn't remember whether it was the 9 or 11 that was booted; so I had a look on eBay and the Trader in an attempt to find one for sale for reference.electronmirror wrote: 25 Sep 2018, 19:41 looked very tidy for its age, was in the car park of Pendennis Castle.
Maybe I'm out of touch, but was surprised to find the only 'number Renault' on the Trader was the Renault 5, seven for sale nationally. And a search on eBay produced zero 12's, 14's, 16's or 20's

Re: I-Spy Classic Cars-What have you spotted?
I had an R11 and think it was a hatch, considering we stuffed my son's first scooter (lambretta-ish type) in the back.
Couldn't close the hatch properly and the voice synthesizer went nuts.
Although that was pretty normal, like Alexa on steroids.
I took the tank sender out one day, not sure why but it was a very posh sealed stainless steel tube thing. Put it back quick before I broke it.

Yes, I noticed that, might explain why it's still around - country folk do seem to keep their cars longer: plenty of so-called late classics still in regular use in & around Torbay.

A wonderful crop of one of my favourite marques, a blaze of 70's colours with a smattering of 60's class.
An absolute Triumph....literally and a very friendly bunch of owners only too happy to chat.
I've put my pick of the bunch on pic of the day.
Nice bit of Inca Yellow on display like this Dolomite Sprint next to this Triumph Stag
A Vermillion Red GT6
Regards Neil

.and 50 points for an unusual spot...
Its a Triumph Vitesse....but not how it came out the factory.....how it came out after a visit to Carbodies of Coventry.............edit....or maybe The Standard-Triumph Park Royal Service Depot as a handful of estates were-becoming known as "Park Royal" estates.

The Sprint, I've got the engine and box in my Riley, nearly the same engine as in my Saab 900, the Saab, I think, has a little more metal between the cylinders, but I used the Saab BOLs to rebuild the Dolly.

Re: I-Spy Classic Cars-What have you spotted?
There was one of those Vitesse Estates @ the Bristol Classic Show last year (maybe the year before). Of course, I assumed it was a home made job, so interested to read the accompanying fact sheet. Not sure why the Service Dept. needed a go-faster estate, I would've thought a Courier would've been more appropriate/useful. This sort of special tended to be Competition Dept service barges, hence, e.g. the 2.5PI estate/Stag hybrid & the MkII Jag estates.

I love that yellow Dolly
Spotted these at Cafe Ventoux yesterday... See my blog for more details of this epic adventure!
This Fiat 500 has a some significant Tour De France history allegedly... According to the cafe owner... I cannot verify it but it was used in the tour in 1951 - the first year it climbed Mt. Ventoux... It was an early prototype allegedly and made specially available...
The 'H' registration it wears today may put that in some doubt... That dates it at 1970...
The second was this beautifully restored Raleigh Chopper... It is perfect
The chrome plating - which has been redone - is better than factory!

Re: I-Spy Classic Cars-What have you spotted?
There was a period in which imports got a current issue registration, e.g. my '70 1/2 (no, don't laugh, that's it's official designation) Camaro has a "V" plate.
