No entries since June. Nothing getting on anyone's wick? "What a wonderful World!"
How about this then as a minor irritation for me today.
and the citation should read "The Drop Link which doesn't have any means at all of preventing rotation when attempting to undo rusty nuts, leaving complete destruction with grinding tools the only option for removing them.

I have found that an Aston Super Wrench (if it can get a grip) will securely hold onto the drop link so it won't rotate.

On television, long pauses and 'talking heads'.
It seems that the dolt's think that on quizzes and the like saying "the answer is" then waiting for several seconds before giving it makes the programme more edge of the seat exciting, it doesn't, it makes it bloody boring.
On programmes like '999 What's your emergency' etc. instead of getting on with showing the action you now have to watch the nurse, doctor or patient's nearest and dearest hogging the camera telling their life story, tedious in the extreme.

^ my TV hasn't been on for three years, drives me round the bend.
It was mainly used for DVDs but I seem to watch them on the computer these days.

Re: Room 101 open for deposits.....
Add to that adverts in any form - I do not watch any British domestic TV now because A: the ads and jingles insult my intelligence and do my head in, and B: the news is so negative and biased, I choose not to listen to it.
I tend to watch France 24 now, as I can get a good round up of worldwide news very quickly and without all the dramatics. But I'm with Steve - I mostly stream on Netflix, have several Blu-Ray home theatre 3D systems and a massive collection of films and series collected over the years of my favourites and NO ADVERTS. That's another reason why I dumped Sky years ago - you paid a subscription to show movies you already own and on every channel you still get adverts despite paying for the service - not anymore! Best thing I ever did.

Re: Room 101 open for deposits.....
I had to remove both drop links on one of my Xantia, and (on one of them) the damned thing was spinning. I had a look and a think, and then managed to separate the ball from the socket. I then was able to hold onto it with said wrench (which hangs on as ferociously as a hungry crocodile!), get a decent ratchet socket onto the nut, and then separate them.

Re: Room 101 open for deposits.....
Progress perhaps but irritated me today so a hasty deposit into Room 101. Finding no slot to put in my £1.20 cash I petulantly refused to flash my contactless card to pay the charge. Headed off to park at Seaton Sluice for nothing, to have our "Cullercoats" coffee's in a scenic location. Two fingers to your stupid machine Whitley Bay.
The cashless pay and display machine in general goes into our Room 101!

I'm afraid I'll have to fish it back out Neil - as I rarely carry any cash now and find it extremely annoying to have to carry every combo of coinage just to cover all the different charges! At least paying with my watch means I can avoid all that hassle and wearing a hole in my pockets

The last time I had to pay to park was when my wife was dying in the QE, Gateshead. Astronomical charges that were the least of my concerns at the time.
But - we always have a heap of change in the car for parking, that never gets used.
Except - forgot my wallet on a shopping trip but discovered £86 in coins in the car, just nicely enough for the shopping
I have no devices capable of making payments, not even a contactless card (It was until I put it through the washing machine a few times)
I is a dinosaur and staying that way.

I gave my Contactless card a scrub as it was looking really manky..... not a bright idea, I had trouble with it thereafter and have since had it replaced.
Cash-less parking machines: a tip I was told by (of all people!) the Parking Inspector himself. If, as is often the case in town centres, the parking rate goes up after the first two hours parking, you can, as long as you're organised and don't forget; repeatedly pay for two hours parking

In my Rm101 today: various modern vehicles whose protruding 'snout' obscures the front right hand Indicator, particularly irritating at roundabouts.
...I think we've already dealt with stupidly placed and 'comedy' indicators on previous occasions.
Also deserving a mention is Horn Pushes placed in the centre of the Steeering Wheel instead of at the end of a Stalk, where they belong

Re: Room 101 open for deposits.....
Well I am loathed to put Edinburgh in Room 101 as in general it has a special place for me and I have wandered virtually every nook and cranny of it over the years and know it well.
Its been a while since I have driven into it and attempted to park though!
Was heading for the Grassmarket to a particular cake and coffee place I had read about, but abandoned it after a frustrating drive hampered by bus lanes/ traffic lights/ illogical routes and lane markings/ no entries/ no left of right turns etc etc, and when you did get within 400 metres of your intended destination £4 an hour parking if you could find any, and construction vehicles occupying 90% of the potential spaces!
Time to take our well-earned dollar away from Edinburgh Centre, headed out to Stockbridge for coffee and cake at Artisan Roast (excellent coffee!) got parked easily enough in the £2.20 an hour zone and strangely for me thought well that's not bad.
So what goes into room 101?
The Towns and cities around the country which conspire to make it difficult for the visitor to visit.
Regards Neil

If you think Edinburgh's bad you might like to look at Birmingham Neil, you'll probably have to register and sign in to view some of the pictures though.
Brum's been a nightmare to find your way round for years, all natural sense of direction is wiped out by 'traffic managers.'

Re: Room 101 open for deposits.....
May I add carburettors to room 101?
Hateful things. One of the carbs on my bike has blown a float seal and is dumping fuel straight down to the cylinders. 21mpg instead of 60 and lots of smoke.
Oh, and I have to take it to pieces to get it fixed.
I feel a bike with injection will be bought soon.
