What do you know about Wales?
"What do you know about Norfolk?" has generated 94 replies and 5357 views to date starting off with the rather flimsy premis of generating a spot of the Brancaster AA Box!
So "What do you know about Wales?" kicks off with the same plea. Will it reach the dizzy heights of 94 replies...well depends if it is more interesting than Norfolk Now I know that Wales is not an FCF Member desert, but 2 years after the AA Box Challenge was launched, 2 out of 3 of the Welsh Boxes remain unclaimed.
How is that even possible!
So for post 1 I present the most important thing I know about Wales...the two unclaimed boxes!
These.....

Re: What do you know about Wales?
I really should go and bag those two boxes at some point. Neither of them are that far from me.

Re: What do you know about Wales?
Thanks Eifion...you would appear to have a fair stable of French Cars to "do the deed" with (original photo with car at said box!)
Now if I was to select one from your list it would have to be the 1972 Citroen DS...is it a go-er?

Re: What do you know about Wales?
There are other things in Wales apart from the AA Boxes....
But not now of course a Tidal Lagoon at Swansea
Still, loads of money time and effort taking this long to ditch it.

For a while in the early part of the 20th Century the land speed records were attempted at Pendine Sands;

I feel I ought to go there as my grandfather and mother are from there but I can't remember where exactly.

I believe the Health And Safety At Work Act came about as a result of the Aberfan disaster in Wales. Not a particularly pleasant chain of events, but one that still influences most of us UK residents to this day.
Sadly no longer a C5 owner

Wasn't aware of that but do vividly recall that happening.

Re: What do you know about Wales?
I am too young to remember it, but I do recall the programs in 2016 (50th anniversary) made me weep.

Re: What do you know about Wales?
Remember it as it happened in 1967 at 8 years old. Just read the wiki page account of the disaster and the aftermath. The prevarication and arguments over the removal of the other tips were shameful.

Not today

Temperatures have got so hot in North Wales that a road had to be closed by police because it was melting.
As the region bakes in temperatures above 30 degrees, the police have had to close the A543 between Pentrefoelas and the Sportsman’s Arms on the Conwy-Denbighshire border, as the road has become too “sticky” for traffic to use.

Re: What do you know about Wales?
In my experience two years running it rains continuously in Swansea but not on the west coast.

I'm just six miles from the border and a frequent visitor to the Monmouth and Chepstow areas.
As for rain you're not wrong, when we lived in Birmingham the nearest coastline holiday places were Llandudno, Rhyl etc. we never had a dry week there, one week we stayed at a place called Clarach Bay, at the time it was undeveloped, it rained every day until the Saturday we were due to leave then the sun shone all day, we spent the day in the sea and I got horribly sunburned.
