Austin A90 Atalantic Atlantic (better get the spelling corrected before Gibbo spots it ) had covered rear wheel arches, but notably 3 headlights, so probably not your mystery vehicle.

No, it wasn't one of those... Tin top, 4 doors, black, looked just like the J-J from the front, but the rear wheels were covered - but with what looked like removable covers.

That Acclaim lives somewhere in our neighbourhood I'm pretty sure, Jim - I've just never quite managed to spot exactly where! Somewhere west of us where it's a right old maze of cul de sacs.
Hoping to catch up with them sometime...us fans of generally unloved classics have to stick together!
We had one as a trade in back at the garage once (it wound up getting chucked to the auction as a lot of older stuff did), and while it was a bit tatty it actually drove nicely. I was quite surprised given the scorn it seemed regarded with.
The ergonomics left a bit to be desired though and I seem to recall finding the choke took me a few seconds of blind fumbling...
Current fleet:

Nice old car, badges at the front include some from Malaysia. Scratch the surface from a simple sighting of an old car and a story unfolds. Its been about a bit that car, including this trip in November last year to take part in the Rally of the Inca's taking in Peru, Chile and Argentina.
I don't have a picture (I was driving at the time) but I saw an old green London Transport bus, reg MXX 313.

Yes, I am paranoid, but am I paranoid ENOUGH?
Out amongst the stars, looking for a world of my own!
