Favourite colours for cars

Post by NewcastleFalcon »

I love a Nuancier (a Colour Chart) Especially those that give photographic examples of the cars.

This one in particular

http://flocarnord.free.fr/p6.html

and from the list there's only one peinture en ville for me!

Favourite colours for cars

Ah, one of the founding principles of the FCF, posts in plain English.

Keep it simple. So out goes Nuancier, and the thread title tells you what's in it :!: :-D

As you can see from my avatar I have a soft spot for the Renault Floride/Caravelle, and as far as colours go, at its best in bright yellow.

So if you fancy joining in what's yours :?:

I don't usually get a choice, but I always wanted an Olympic Blue BX, preferably with 16 Valves  Like this one, only it's missing a few valves  :

Colours are remarkably subjective to the car though i always thought. Certain colours are a bit too soft on some and vice versa, certain colours need a more angular shape to define them, Alfa always managed to pull of the colours imo.

Yes, it's very subjective, some cars do work better in some colours &, often, it'd not a serious consideration BUT, hate "champagne" & gone right off silver.

Black really - but perhaps not for a C15 - although really like blue STS's, perhaps because it's a rare colour.

Does anyone else ever wonder why anyone would've bought a fawn/beige E-type? ( red Daimlers puzzle me a bit too)

Peugeot Cherry Red and Peugeot Miami Blue as both seen on the 205GTi are two of my very favourite colours...

My 207 is in a very similar shade to Miami Blue although I think it has a different name...

Peugeot Sorrento Green (another 205GTi colour) runs a close second...

Contenders for my least favourite ones from the e-type list would be Sable and Willow Green. Thats not to say they wouldn't create a stir of interest if they appeared in Morrison's car park.

Anyone care to identify the precise colour on this XM? Is it out of the ordinary enough to be interesting?
