Lorem Ipsum is a standard gobbledygook text for typesetters to fill in an area that will eventually be used for copy.
I used to work in the production department for a mail order catalogue and it was used extensively.

But Jabberwocky is a different kettle of fish entirely. Wonderful poem.

That Pifco was a great little thing and I remember them...

We need something like that today, only much louder to warn all those looking to win a Darwin Award by wearing those big headphones and lost in their own world staring at their phones...

We also are still waiting for the ray gun that will instantly turn all German cars to dust and render their owners sane and sensible when whey come too near to a bike!!!!

I remember the PIFCO bike horn, and used to have one as a youngster. Remember it made a kind of snarling buzz. Never knew what those five letters stood for - Icandescent - wonderful.
Do recall they made all sorts of tinny things, like cheap torches, which Woolies and later Halfords used to sell. A name I'd put in the same category as Ronco, who was definitely at the bottom of the barrel.

Oh yes Chris, Pifco was never associated with quality products!

Most of their stuff really was quite shoddy - I know from fixing loads of their stuff as a youngster... Kept me in pocket money though

I had one of those!!! They were ubiquitous. I think everybody might well have in the 70s!!!

Could you adapt something like this for your bike, its not that big, but you would have to generate some compressed air or gas to make it work. I don't have to tell you where it comes from do I?...title gives it away really. They seem to have acquired a few others as well, from other locos.

Listening to the radio today, Vanessa Feltz to be precise, she had a guest on called Sam Roberts talking about "ghost signs" those faded remains of old advertising on walls. He's made quite a study of it, and has compiled/is compiling a record of such signs, does tours etc and makes a bit of a living out of it!

I just lap up that sort of stuff, and adds yet another element of interest in a treasure-hunty sort of way as you get out and about. There are no doubt good....but fading examples...in all parts of the Country.

One of Sam's favourites is this example, so it gets the honour of an appearance in 'Picture(s) of the day'
