Had a bit of a delve into North Yorkshire down to Scarborough yesterday. Passing through Thornton-le-Dale just outside Pickering there's a classic car garage so I snapped few pics.

First up, quite a tatty, and mucky coloured Vauxhall VX 4/90. Maybe at one time "Luton's Finest" but had very much seen better days.
from Wiki
A sporty derivative, the VX4/90, was also available, with twin-carburettor, alloy head, high-compression, nitrided crankshaft engine giving 71 bhp (53 kW; 72 PS) and servo-assisted brakes. Externally the car was distinguished from the standard car by a coloured stripe down the side, revised grille and larger tail-light clusters. These cosmetic features were essentially similar to the Canadian-market-only Envoy models.

I love Schmitars a lot. Fancy one in my dreams..

Today I saw a group of Sierra Cossies taking a break on their way to a rally in Chieveley Services (A34/M4) and then a little down the Newbury Bypass I got passed by two very fast moving MK1 Escort Mexicos...

Must have been a big Ford rally on today somewhere down south...

Today's spots en route to Whitley Bay and back.

A rather tatty green, and not very nice green, Corsair in the far corner of a used car dealer in Cullercoats, with a price tag of over £4,000 on it, looked expensive if it was £500 for me, but in general I do like a Corsair.

A red GT6.......always a head turner for me cos I used to have one many moons ago. I like them in any colour even purple...well magenta to be precise, not to be confused with the altogether more muted damson.

Nice spot, I love a GT6. A car I'd like to own one day.

me too, especially in that colour 8-)

Spotted an HC Viva, a Lambretta scooter wearing 20,000 mirrors and a 1968 Vespa scooter all whilst walking to my karate dojo this morning...

Yesterday actually but I forgot about it until just now.

Nice Merc spotted up at the industrial estate at Stacy Bushes yesterday when I was grabbing lunch.

Wouldn't mind one from that era at all...or to be honest anywhere from there up until the early 90s really.

That looks like a Mercedes 280 SL roadster....its got a 2778 cc Engine and first registered 23rd July 1968 and a distinctive style grill.
Christened 'Pagoda' after their distinctive cabin shape with its generous glass area, these SL models were amongst the best-loved sports-tourers of their day and remain highly sought after by collectors.
Plenty of additional info here on the "Pagoda".

Very nice

Todays pair were a Triumph Dolomite in blue, and a MGA in dull reddish brown. I do like an MGA, but this was badly in need of a shiny new paint job in a bit more vibrant colour. No original photography I'm afraid.

The Dolomite was this colour (Tahiti Blue at a guess). It may have been like this an 1850 HL, but may conceivably have been a Sprint.

Well, a Dakota DC3 (but with the zebra stripes) has just flown over my house in Reading. Sorry, but I didn't get to the camera in time.

Last time I saw one was at the Middleton-St.-George airbase - now South Durham Airport and a couple of miles from my second daughters home.
But that would have been back in 1963 :(
