Some bar-steward driving a light coloured vehicle decided to get intimate with the front wing of our maroon Megane, probably when trying to park next to us. The afore mentioned bar-steward thought it clever to leg it without owning up to their inadequate driving skills.
So now I need a new off side wing, question is though, insurance claim or not?
Does anyone know if these are welded or bolted on? If bolted my be worth getting new one having it sprayed and fit it myself or trying to find a ready painted one from a brokers.
Greatful for any advice, and If I ever find the bar-steward they can look out!
All the best

I used to work as a valeter in a renault bodyshop, and if memory serves, they are held along the top with torx screws, a torx screw visible down the lower A pillar with the door open and a special plastic coated rivet at the bottom on the sill.
The wing is quite a big part of the car, so I wouldn't want to spray it myself, but if I was going to I would have an aerosol made up at a bodyshop factor as the colour match is much better although more expensive. If you have no experience of spraying with aerosol I wouldn't attempt it as it is hard to get an acceptable finish without using a mop. I reckon if you can find one at the breakers in the right colour then fine, fit it yourself, otherwise have it done at a local bodyshop and be prepared to pay up to £150 for supply fit and paint.
Renualt are really bad at supplying single fasteners too, they supply them in 'collision packs' so you have to but millions of different fasteners you don't need. Hunt around for the plastic coated rivets elsewhere as they are available, and just be careful not to scratch the paint when you undo the torx screws. Lastly, leave the remaining seam sealer in place when you fit the new wing, as it is better then none. (it's a kind of mastic between the outer and inner wing)
hope this has been of some use.
