Re: C5 X7 ambient lighting (and some other bits and pieces)
I replaced the EGR valve on mine today so I had to take the 'Air Mixer Unit'/'Double Dozy' off to get to it.
Mine is just the same as yours- only connected on one side (and a bit oily inside).
As you say, all the wiring is there for the second side but none of it is connected. I didn't spot an extra vacuum pipe for it but that'd hardly be the most challenging thing to fabricate.
Any ideas where the oil comes from? Anything to worry about?

Re: C5 X7 ambient lighting (and some other bits and pieces)
My doser doesn't have any vacuum pipes connected (if you mean the potential small outlets that are in the back of the huge rubber pipes) and it works ... regarding the oil, no ideas, I've asked several mechanics, it is nothing to worry about, much like you could find excess oil in almost every other motor component ... now, how reassuring this answer is, I don't know, but it's not bothering me ... will take it off in a few months to see if any extra oil got in ... I'm much more interested in getting the 2nd intake active ... I don't expect a revolution with it, I just want to see how it works, and what are the benefits or drawbacks to such an configuration (it should only make sense to reuse the already heated air to introduce it in the engine - when needed of course, especially in the winter)

Mines definitely got a vacuum pipe going to it.
Looks like the one on top of the EGR valve.
Looks like the one on top of the EGR valve.

Any chance of a photo of the situation on your car?

Of course...Any chance of a photo of the situation on your car?
The one on the right has the wiring connected:

And the vacuum pipe connected:

The one on the left has no wiring connected:

Because the wiring plug is hiding over here:

And there is nothing connected to the vacuum thingy:

Hmmmm, the plot thickens.

(apologies for the photo quality but it's dark and cold out there)

Re: C5 X7 ambient lighting (and some other bits and pieces)
I've taken a good look once again on my car, my mistake, I also have the vacuum pipe connected ... it's a really tight fit with all the pipes, hoses and whatnot to clearly see what goes where ... so, currently, me and Lenny have the same doser situation ...

For reference, my car's RPO is 12299 ... the 2-intake doser was up until RPO 12382 ... afterwards they switched to a 1-intake doser (that's regarding the 2.0 HDi 163 BHP engine)

Yep, that's a double alright ... could you take a photo of the left connector (inner plastic color) and the connect location of the 2nd (left) vacuum pipe, where does it lead to on the engine (if it's somewhat accessible, don't bother if it is below or in the back)?

Re: C5 X7 ambient lighting (and some other bits and pieces)
No hurries, when you find the time ... I want to confirm something about the left connector ... my guess is tha on Lenny's and my car (the revisions) they intentionally put wrong connectors, to avoid people actually connecting them to the left doser intake (in your case, both the right and the left doser connectors/plugs - what connects to the doser sockets - should be identical) ... meaning, hypothetically - if I replace the plug with the right type, and place the vacuum pipe where it should go, I might enable the left doser intake (again, important note - this is only an experiment, I don't expect any real benefits from this, and I don't encourage anyone to try this on their cars)

Mines 12365.For reference, my car's RPO is 12299 ... the 2-intake doser was up until RPO 12382 ... afterwards they switched to a 1-intake doser
I haven't tried connecting the spare connector so I couldn't comment on whether it fits or not.
Might give it a go though.
