The Athena will need some love but its a rare old beast and of course I now have a pair of Athenas!
Mines a very late S1 (1984) with the first of the god awful metric wheels and cheap looking wheeltrims (now replaced by MG pepper pots with VDP centres) which are made of un-obtainium and my tyres were 31 years old and had big splits in them.
I opened my mouth about the Xantia didn't I ....bloody ABS light has just come on, its gone out again after ive had it on the lift and checked the fuse etc but that's not a good sign! (abs now working again as it didn't when light was illuminated) I hate these new fangled cars with sensors and ECU's!

When did the ABS light come on? Was the car in motion? If it was, it is possible that a reluctor ring has cracked, and is now spinning freely on the drive shaft (assuming it is a front one, the rear ones are part of the hub assembly).

Yes, I am paranoid, but am I paranoid ENOUGH?
Out amongst the stars, looking for a world of my own!
A bit of rust metal stuck to the end of the sensor can cause the light to come on Tim, and then if its disapeared again it could of gone. It only needs a flake! The XM rear ABS sensors throw up errors with DRIED GREASE on the tip of the sensor! It effects the Hall Effect signal see!
It all depends when the ECU has processed and possibly seen the rust on the end of the sensor...

And generally dirty 'dragon's teeth' (the ABS Reluctor Ring) can cause it too... Give the teeth a good clean with a small wire brush and then see how it goes Tim...
However R305OKV will soon be up for sale, I have been given a job opportunity which involves a company car etc, so it will get sold as will probably the Desire 2, which is a shame but they wont get used and space is tight.
I will get the both MOTed and advertised on here or car and classic, although it wont be until spring.
Its only issue is the high idle which I am sure is an easy fix.
Any interested parties please contact me.
The white car especially is a great example of a 1.9TD with 78k and is in very nice condition.

As you know the White Xantia has sold, in fact I could have sold it more than twice. And a modern company car has replaced it.....,,,well not actually, a super low mileage last of the s1 cars 1.8i lx in silver appeared on eBay, and I had a cheeky bid.
And today I went on a train to burley to collect it!
£336 with 9 months mot, 45000 miles and 3 keys!
The inside is like new! And it's tidy and rust free, but has flat spheres, a bent rim and the trackings way out!
It's also not had a service since 2010 at 35000 miles! Although it's a full Citroen one before then.
There's another dent in the near side sill, a light scratch to the NSF wing and all the chrome inserts are corroded.
